"Run. Do not have anything to do with these people. They're of middling competence when you have money invested with them, because they're basically just a pass-through entity. You can find better elsewhere. However, at the point you want to take any of your money out, they will use every trick to hold on to it, with an endless array of forms that need to be filled, signed and certified in *just* the right way. They will feed you excuses that, sure, the form you filled out last time last time took care of the problem they told you about, but now there's *another* form that's needed for some other step in the process... and of course, they couldn't just let you fax anything in, everything has to be a physical copy, adding a few more days at every step. They seem to think that they're doing God's work, and well, that means God will forgive them their sins, right? Run."
"take money easily, but when it comes to rolling over or cashing out they want you to jump through a ton of hoops. never getting my money again"
"I just started working on going through AG Financial for my retirement and I am blown away by their personable customer service skills. They listened to all my questions and took the time to answer every one."
"Incompetent, Incompetent, Incompetent Oh did I say they were incompetent??? Today my wife and I attempted to take care of a simple task of changing the name of some financial documents for my FIL. We had paper work in hand and needed AGFinancial to provide an additional piece of paper to have signed and notarized. I explained this to the receptionist and also explained what our business did NOT deal with. Twenty minutes later a fellow came to greet us. From him we learned he had been reviewing the documents with which our business had nothing to do with. Nothing had been relayed to him regarding the real purpose of our being there. Turns out the mental giant behind the reception desk did not listen and told him the wrong topic of our needs. Once we explained what was really needed he had our additional paper to take to have signed and notarized to us in reasonable time. We were back with signed and notarized papers in the early afternoon. Again we were met by the mental giant of a receptionist. We quickly explained what we had what was needed. Forty minutes later after trying again to explain that all that was needed were numbers to be filled in by client services and a copy made for us to take to my wife's parents we were nowhere. At this point someone from client service finally got away from their desk and came out. He obviously had not listened either. He wanted to talk about trustees and had been reviewing trustee information in the documents dropped off this morning. After being told the fourth time that this is ONLY about a name change and all documents are in order and has nothing to with trustees he got it. The client services rep had an epiphany and left and in 3-5 minutes had the numbers in order and the copy made. After 75 minutes of waiting and frustrating explanations today we had the actual work accomplished in 8-10 min of actual doing. Perhaps one should find out the receptionist and client services reps birthdays and send q-tips so they can clean out their ears and listen. In forty years of having businesses in Springfield I cannot remember but one other time encountering two people in one day who should not be employed ever!!!!!"
"Unfortunately they are a third party investing through Ameritrade and have not trained their representatives very well, including the supervisors. They took my funds quite easily but it took lots of paperwork and 4 weeks to just have them roll the funds over to another institution. After they were finally transferred they did not send a statement of which funds were pre-tax and which ones were after-tax contributions. I spoke with 4 different AG Financial representatives including a supervisor and 3 out of 4 said that a statement would be sent to my other financial institution. Nope. A few years ago I wanted to open a Roth account and call them to do this. The representative with AG Financial discouraged it highly and tried to tell me about all the tax issues that I would have. I had already researched Roth IRA accounts and told him that I did not think he knew what he was talking about. I went down to my local Credit Union and opened one and received all kinds of tax breaks for 2 years in a row. If I were to do this again I would have begun investing through Vanguard or Fidelity. I would have had the same benefit with some experienced people managing my retirement."
