"If you are in Springfield and like a bit if history, they are famous for being the birthplace of route 66. Probably the most iconic highway in America. Now it is just a place to visit and read a little history. However there is also another little fact fun about this area. It is where the first drive thru restaurant in America also started. It was called Red's Giant Hamburg. Now Red ordered his sign but it wouldn't fit his post, so he had to cut the 'er' off his hamburger sign to make it fit, giving us the Hamburg drive thru. The restaurant is no longer there, and Springfield placed the sign in mentor if the first drive thru. If you like fun facts and have the time it is worth the stop."
