Lenexa Crossing Apartments

"I came here recently from Colorado and moved here for a fresh start while pregnant, as we moved in I immediately noticed the stench of paint and bleach and I would only assume that the so called “renovation” was done not only poorly but last minute. And I wouldn’t even call it technically renovating anything my fiancé and I walk in here and immediately notice the damage on the baseboards the doors the ceiling has water damage to it, and this is just me assuming but if somebody is about to move in I don’t feel like I should be seeing rust inside my dishwasher, on my shower heads and on the vent by the heater. And on top of that THE ROACHES. I really just avoided all these red flags as reading other reviews but the roaches are no joke. I’m sorry but as far as I’m concerned this place is completely false advertising. And on top of that all the noise around me literally right by my window every single day, whoever is above me literally STOMPING back and forth constantly over and over all throughout the night is ridiculous. The fact that my baby monitor even detects that every time should say something. Nothing looks like anything as shown in the photos whatsoever. I’m not saying this place should be spot on or luxury even but the amount of things I could list is a problem. I have a newborn son now and I don’t even feel comfortable with him sleeping because god knows how much filth and crap is in this place. Real upsetting but I guess it’s what I should’ve expected honestly."

"My evaluation of these apartments is that they are bad and never recommend them. Repairs take a long time, and the treatment of the officials is very bad. They do not respect you, do not take your opinion, and do not listen to you. And there is no privacy. All over one time I had leaked gas leak that they didn't come to fix until I moved out. And Nathan, he's the manager one time he came to my apartment and he yelled at he was so rude I do not know why they have him as a manager he shouldn't be there he makes everything harder, and worse."

"The worst place I ever lived. A month after moving in, I had unwanted guests move in with me...roaches. It was a regular thing to kill at least 10 roaches in the morning by the afternoon and evening it was uncontrollable. Requested pest control which made the situation worse. Oh and mice also found my unit comfortable. It got so bad I stopped cooking at home and bought fast food that I had to put in plastic bags in my fridge when I couldn't finish and tie it in a knot because the roaches also enjoyed being in my fridge. Imagine waking up and a roach is crawling on your face. Imagine your kids not sleeping well in their rooms because roaches are dropping from the ceiling. Yes, enough was enough and I broke my lease to move somewhere else. I ended up leaving so much behind because I didn't want to carry the infestation with me. I lost so much. I'm writing this to warn any potential tenants especially ones with children to skip past these places. A total nightmare that I'm still traumatized from."

"I enjoy living here, but keep in mind, it's not a luxury complex. I pay a very reasonable price for the space I have and will be renewing my lease for another year for sure. That being said, here is everything I wish I knew before I moved in last year: There are older and newer apartments in this community. From what I have seen (visiting friends in the other buildings) 1-2 bedroom plans are newer builds, they are only two stories tall, they have a built in combo washer/dryer, and have the nicer amenities listed on the apartment website such as nice countertops, newer appliances fridge, oven, etc. I myself live in a 3 bedroom unit. These buildings are older, have three floors (the lowest floor is reminiscent of a basement you are partially underground so your windows will be at ground level) and have more basic features, older fridge, stove/oven, polycarbonate wood counters finished with that plastic type sealant. There is a dishwasher and it works good enough. The water pressure is good for showers, even on the third floor the heating and cooling work well and summer/winter has been tolerable. There are laundromat rooms scattered around the complex, and they did just replace those washing machines (as of 2023) so there are on site facilities if you don't have a washer/dryer in unit. I have not interacted very much with the leasing office after my initial move in, but they do get back to you on important matters as quickly as they can. Maintenance has only had to come twice but both times they were pretty quick to solve the problems. The people living here are a good crowd. No issues with noise, parties, etc. Everyone tends to keep to themselves which keeps it pretty peaceful. Like I said, it's not a luxury apartment, but if you're looking for a good deal with enough space, in a nice area, this is the one for you."
