"We got a very personal tour from a couple very knowledgeable docents. If you have an interest in this area's history, particularly pre and post-ACW, I highly recommend visiting this museum."
"The battle of Westport Visitor Center and museum has moved and is currently located in the 1855 Harris-Kearney House"
"No impressed. I'm not sure if the volunteer was MIA the Thursday I went out of that was a regular occurance. Honestly, the website talks of the fact that it's a walking tour, so maybe don't bother to visit the visitor's center? Up to you. Fyi, good luck calling ahead because it seems the phone number on the website is not connected directly to the actual office, but affiliates of the center. If you call, be sure to be clear you need the direct number for the center."
"Quiet little museum I wasn't expecting to find. We were parked waiting to meet up with a friend and decided to stop inside. The Docent was pleasant, out going, and enthusiastic to chat. I found the museum to be fairly lacking in exhibits, it was mostly placards spread throughout one room."
"A great place to visit before going on a self guided tour. A young gentleman there very patiently answered questions about the battle. He knew his history and told me where to see the places of the battle I was interested in, such as Byram’s ford. This museum is run by an organization that is seeking to preserve and restore what is left of the battlefield and its history."
