"My group scheduled a private tour and we could not have been treated better. The building has been beautifully renovated recently. The second floor is of main interest because that is where all of the exhibits relating directly to Kansas City are located. The third floor contains a comfortable theater, where a movie about the Long family is shown. In my opinion, the movie is over long and not terribly engaging. Unfortunately, the Long heirs sold off most of their belongings so the rooms are quite beautifully re-furbished, but not with original pieces. The neighborhood is slowly becoming gentrified, and there are many beautiful homes and vistas throughout the area."
"It has been years since visiting the Museum! Wonderful restoration! Beautifully renovated with modern & local history combined. My wife & I finished our visit with Strawberry Soda & ice cream at the downstairs cafe."
"Magnificent old mansion built 1909, I think, by R.A. Long. Of Longview farm fame. There is a documentary about Mr. Long and his family. Only 27 minutes long, I recommend watching it. Very interesting displays to look at. More of a history of Kansas City, not just about the Longs. The house is really worth seeing. I will add a pic of art glass window on main stairs."
"It's a really cool place! Interesting to see how the people lived when this was a residence and great information about the history of Kansas City."
"Gorgeous antique detailing engraved on the walls, several grand pianos in the foyer, chronological exhibits explaining the history of the house, staircases with elegant balusters and amazing detail. Lovely location for a photos & just a $10 charge. Otherwise admission is free!"
