"Scheduled a viewing for a wedding venue, was even emailed a notification by them to remind us that we had a viewing. We arrived ahead of schedule and waited till it was time, nobody ever showed up. We called and they said “we are understaffed and there is nobody to come out to show you the venue, would you like to reschedule”. We said no because we were annoyed, I wouldn’t want to rely on a venue when they can’t even show up to a showing. Nobody thought to reach out and let us know while we just stood out there and waited. Not to mention we don’t live around there so we drove out for nothing."
"I had my wedding here and it was absolutely beautiful! The price was amazing and the staff will definitely work with you! The only frustrating thing was the clean up and having to put away all the chairs you rented on your own when they are rented out to you and put out for you at the beginning."
"Our tour guide was great, very knowledgeable and friendly. The rooms include helpful exhibit boards with information on the family and time period."
"Toured as a potential wedding venue recently, the first time I've been to the Majors house in over ten years. The nonprofit that manages the property does as much as they can to keep costs reasonable, and all of the venue cost supports the nonprofit. This is a beautiful space at a fraction of the cost of comparable private venues. And the Majors house museum itself is a fantastic nugget of historical preservation of a Civil War era home in nearly the condition it would have seen at the time. The museum is self-guided and there's so much interest and beauty to experience!"
"Spooky ghost tour was fun. Interesting history and very neat house."
