"This is a wonderful visitors center. The exhibits are well-crafted with key information from Missouri LDS Church History. I went by myself this time, but next time I plan to bring my children too (both under the age of 8)! The exhibit is interactive with videos to watch, a cabin to walk through, and a little children’s play area at the end. My favorite part is the Christus statue at the beginning of the tour. Would highly recommend to anyone driving through this part of Missouri! It takes about 30 minutes to go through the tour. I’m not sure if it is a permanent installation or not, but there is also an exhibit of pictures taken by George Edward Anderson in 1907 of many significant locations from the prophet Joseph Smith’s life. This was really neat to see! The missionary couple that oversees the center is friendly and welcoming, and the young sister missionary who took us through the tour was knowledgeable, cheerful and kind."
"This is a wonderful visitor center. We were able to do the guided tour. They explained the history of the saints in the area and the later persecution. Amazing what faith the saints had in Joseph Smith to move to the frontier."
"If you are interested in learning about the Mormon pioneers and how they ended up in Missouri, this is a great place to visit. You will also be able to take a tour. Admission is also free."
"The tour was great. My kids listened and may have learned some history do the area. The tour guide was kind and knowledgeable. The best part is we ran into some acquaintances that we hadn’t seen since we moved away over 4 years ago."
"I really enjoy this place. It's always nice and cool inside and once you come in the people there are so nice and kind and really help to show you a tour of the place. It's a fun place to learn about the pioneer heritage of the LDS people and the struggles that they faced. It also has some really nice replicas of what things were like back then, such as a cabin and furnishings inside the cabin. They have a lot of knowledgeable staff that can help you and answer any questions you may have. Great place to visit for any kind of vacation"
