"Very interesting and designated historical space. Interested to learn how it was built and used!"
"The missionaries did a great job with the tour. We walked in and they were able to get us instantly into the tour. They remembered our names and were very thoughtful for those in our group that had mobility issues. Amazing story and the jail was well preserved."
"Beautiful grounds and building. They have done a great job to capture the spirit of Joseph Smith. Our tour guide was wonderful and helped us understand the tensions in the area that led to Joseph Smith being imprisoned. It's amazing what they had to endure in that little jail."
"Guides will take you on a brief tour that takes about 20 minutes. Good place to visit for those interested in Missouri history or Latter-day Saint history. Pictures but not video allowed inside the hall where the old jail is preserved. Parked at a neighboring church, but there is limited parking around the Visitor’s center too."
"We love this historical destination. The missionaries who teach you about the history are very knowledgeable about the history of the area. We all felt a sweet spirit as we visited this site. We learned that they are going to go through a face lift soon with be carpets and decor. We had so much fun and will be back!!!"
