"One of Missouri State Parks gems! We toured the house and the mill. Great guides at both the house and the mill. Great story about the Watkins family and western expansion. Great use of my tax dollars, in my opinion. Very reasonable fee for guided tour at $4.00. Museum is free! A must on any history buffs bucket list."

"The tour of the mill and the house is a fantastic learning experience. The park is beautiful, clean and well managed. I really enjoy staying here and this year in March the weather was perfect for this years initiation of flip flops! Watkins Mill State Park entrance can be somewhat confusing though as the maps will guide you to the back side of the park. Take a look at the map closely and head for the camping area and you’ll save yourself a U-turn - which is not easy in a 66’ rig (with Jeep in tow)"

"Interesting place to visit. We arrived at closing time so we didn’t get to see a lot. I hope t go back when we can spend more time touring the mill and grounds of the estate. The park is large and does not always work well using a GPS. Don’t get frustrated if it doesn’t take to the correct place first try. It really is there."
