Country Kids Day Care of Lenexa

"We could not be happier with Country Kids Day Care. This is our first experience with child care and the staff in the infant room made it an easy transition. They are warm and welcoming each morning and it's obvious how much they care for each child. We also receive thorough communication from the room teachers and the front desk."

"At first this daycare was awesome. The teachers cared. Ms. Laura the director when we started was nice always had a smile. Mr. Jeremy was what seemed like the maintenance man, was I guess more than that. Not sure cause the first time I had ever spoke to him was when he informed me that our children could no longer come back after we questioned their policy. I have no problem following policies. But we had communicated with the preschool 3 class teacher that our oldest had received two shots containing four vaccines. It was normal for him to run a low grade temp. When they informed my husband later in the day that our son had a 100.2 fever and he needed to pick up. We expressed over and over that it was due to vaccines and there is no reason why he can’t stay. We were even told he couldn’t come the next day. He picked him up, I cannot speak to what happened because although I was threatened there was camera proof on how he acted. I was never shown this footage. It was my word against theirs. We never felt welcome here by any of the management staff. The preschool 1 teacher couldn’t even remember our younger sons name and joked with me on more than one occasion that she called him by his older brothers name all day and he had to correct her. This is unacceptable, especially when our oldest son wasn’t even in that class with her. As soon as the new director started teachers started dropping like flys and they have such a high turnover that I felt their was a new teacher every few weeks. I get that, that is happening in a lot of places. But I wouldn’t recommend this daycare to anyone. They follow SMSD inclement weather. I had to leave work on multiple occasions because they felt they needed to close early since schools were closed. Kids in daycare are there because parents are working. There was even one day where they closed at 5 and it didn’t even snow. When I expressed my concern about this and how expensive the care is, no one seemed to care. Remember you and your child are a number and even if they don’t want to admit it money is money and people will choose greed over being kind. The new facility we are at now is better, our 5 year old is already doing basic math. I felt like he could barely write his name when they kicked us out with no notice. We were told Thursday and they even gave us a check for Friday tuition and said not to return. I may have been a bit hysterical when I started crying but the amount of stress they caused and little to no sympathy for our children just solidified that we should have moved them before this happened. All they did was building blocks center time and color. They brought home so much color sheets I had to throw them out. Please beware of country kids because after talking with some parents they also agree this place is trending in the wrong direction and heading down hill. Thank you for helping us find a better daycare!"
