"I did impatient here at cottonwood for 5 days and the staff and environment was a great place for recovery. They have a good structure for us with a day fully scheduled with classes, outside time, personal time, 3 meals a day and snacks available 24/7. The staff runs really good group classes and help you with the next step of recovery. Would recommend to my closest friend."
"A family member of mine recently attended Cottonwood for inpatient therapy. The staff there was very welcoming and attentive to their needs from the time they checked in until the time they left their care. The environment was conducive to their recovery, and was kept clean to reduce the risk of sickness among the patients and staff. The meals were prepared with care and given at routine times to give the patients a sense of normalcy. Patients were able to do their own laundry in a clean environment with up-to-date washers and dryers. The nurses provided the patients with their medication’s in an organized fashion and on time each morning or evening depending on the time the meds were needed. All in all, they said, it was a very good stay. They felt safe for the conditions they were in mentally. The only problem they had was that there were not enough things to do to keep them occupied. The TV times were too short. Also, the patients were allowed a certain amount of time to use their devices, such as phones or tablets. Although they weren’t given very much time to use them, it was at least something for the patients to look forward to each day. The staff kept them safe from any unruliness that may have occurred. So, they would recommend Cottonwood Springs for your family or loved ones mental health care."
"I voluntarily decided to check myself into the PHP outpatient program about 2 weeks ago, and I have not even finished the program yet, but it has already changed my life for the better. The staff is incredibly good at what they do, compassionate, non- judgmental, and my therapist, Isabel, specifically has been a huge help for me as well. I would recommend this to anyone struggling with mental or substances abuse issues, but would say that it is all about attitude. If you are truly ready and embrace what they teach and how they go about treatment, then it will be extremely helpful. I hope I do not have to come back, but if I do I will be coming back here. It’s been so helpful and positive in my life that I will actually be sad when I am discharged because of the people here and the people who have shared experiences with me. Keep it up!"
"The staff here is amazing! Doctors give you individual attention and really listen to you. Treatment plans are adjusted to each person's needs. Each counselor has a different approach to addressing mental health and substance use disorders. I've learned a lot here and have been able to incorporate new skills into my daily life. Cottonwood Springs is an excellent place for anyone struggling with substance abuse problems or mental health issues. They also are very educated in medicine management. I highly recommend this place"
"I went there myself. I wasn’t sure what to expect and I’m from Topeka. We do not have intense outpatient treatment, which is really what I needed the doctor. There was more versed on my health and doctors you pay to see at least in Topeka. He knew all of my medical history before he saw me the first time, and he also knew that I had been put in the wrong ward and moved me to the place. I should be within the first few hours of seeing me. If it was not for the Actual knowledge and care I would not have been able to complete my stay and I would’ve had to have left. The way it worked. I did stay the entire week and I did come home with a new medication that was hard to stay on but after doing what I was asked to do, I can honestly say that I feel better and I feel like my mental health is getting better! I would recommend it and actually did recommend it to a friend and I’m going to drive for there today! The only thing I didn’t like about it was sometimes it goes by where a bed is open and not where a patient should be and unfortunately, one person in the wrong ward can really ruin it for everybody and when you’re dealing with anxiety, somebody throwing things around and screaming and cussing can really have everybody with anxiety Having to bombard the staff for their anxiety medication when they’re having to deal with the person that shouldn’t be on their award in the first place, but they have wonderful staff there!"
