"I saw Eric Gifford for neck, shoulder and arm pain. At my first visit, he obtained x-rays of my neck and referred me to in-house physical therapy. I had completed 10 cycles of physical therapy and was approved for six more on my fifth visit. I explained to my physical therapist how bad my pain was and somethings were making it worse. At that time he determined that I should see the doctor and possibly have a referral for updated imaging. I had had a previous MRI on my neck a year ago (abnormal) and on my right shoulder 10 years ago (abnormal). I made the appointment to go back and see Dr. Gifford at that appointment. He never did an assessment at all. He simply came in the room and said he didn’t see how imaging would see anything different even though I explained my symptoms were exasperated and that I am afraid of doing more harm. He told me this is very complicated and he doesn’t really understand it. He was very argumentative and uncaring. He says imaging probably would not show anything. From my experience in the medical field if we are doing physical therapy and causing symptoms to be exasperated, we need to understand why so that we don’t do any more harm. This practice is set up to see him and his physical therapy and they keep you there. I would definitely recommend a second opinion from anyone that has seen him. Especially due to his reluctance to send me on to someone that could help me. I also feel it is very important to know that whenever I told him that I would do a review, that was all he was concerned about., said I was threatening him. There are signs up that you get rewards for doing reviews to me that is a red flag. Disclaimer: I am an RN I feel his care very substandard."
