"All the nurses are friendly and polite they are wonderful to be around Lindsey really cares about her patience as does all the nurses"
"Is Lindsay Rawlins a specialist? If so I would like to know why we aren't paying our insurance rate of $35.00 for a specialist instead of $285. Here we go again! We are being billed $295, $285 and it should only be $35 since she is a specialist. Can anyone help?"
"After a brief exam, the NP declared my husband's wounds to be the type that Medicare will not cover hyperbaric oxygen to treat. HBO is probably the only chance he has at saving his life, and his death will be an excruciatingly painful one as his condition deteriorates without intervention. When I mentioned this, with no empathy whatsoever, she simply told us that her hands were tied. We were given no supplies, prescriptions, or guidance other than to essentially keep doing what we have already been doing... which amounts to washing it with soap and water. We left with my 40-year-old husband sobbing - wouldn't you, if an arrogant nurse immediately wrote you off and matter-of-factly told you after a brief exam that you were not entitled to treatment that may be your only hope? No review of your medical records, no referral to an actual physician within the clinic who may have more experience or know of any other options? Just an acknowledgement that yes, that could save your life, but... nah. I immediately began doing research when I got home, and discovered within a few minutes and a simple Google search that could have been performed by a child that Medicare *will* cover HBO for complications of disease that he *has* been diagnosed with. This nurse would have known this if a) she were versed in the Medicare requirements of a treatment she offers, and b) was even remotely thorough in evaluating him as a new patient and requested medical records from all of his providers. Wound care is a highly specialized field of medicine, and the patients seeking this type of care are suffering as much emotionally as they are physically. The embarrassment and shame that comes along with having a wound that oozes and stinks and fear of what will happen if it progresses accompanied by exhaustion from excruciating pain leaves these patients in an extremely emotional state, and having not only the medical expertise and skill to treat their physical symptoms but the empathy and willingness to exhaust every resource to find healing should be a prerequisite for any medical professional employed in this field. Mercy is supposed to be a Christian establishment built on the principles of compassion and healing - not premature rejections and immediate dismissals of another human being's existence. I wish the nurse practioner could know the heartbreak, terror, and worthlessness she instilled in my husband within ten or fifteen minutes of even knowing that he existed. I pray that if she does read this, instead of reacting with self-preservation and defensiveness, she instead uses it as an opportunity to learn the responsibility of a provider in such a delicate field of medicine, and the effect that her casual ability to give another human being a death sentence has on them."
"Clean, quick, and competent. The doctors and nurses are friendly and knowledgeable. If you have to have wound care done, go here."
