"I would NOT recommend Nurse Practioner,Lindsey Leonard at the Lees Summit Ascentist location to anybody, especially for chronic or complicated sinus/ear issues. My son has had chronic sinus infections for 10 plus years. Lindsey initially put him on doxycycline for a severe infection, and then at his 2 week follow up she was very dismissive. The infection had resolved, but as we explained to her it would reoccur as it always does, and has for the last 10 years. She said to call back and come back in if symptoms reoccur. In addition at the follow up she also said she was going to look in his nose to see if something needed cauterized due to recurrent nosebleeds, she did not. Her suggestions were to put Vaseline in his nose, allergy meds, and netti pot. It’s obvious she doesn’t listen because we told her multiple times he already takes allergy meds daily along with netti pot usage. She said we did not need a follow up appointment. It was a total gaslighting experience. We felt unseen, unheard, and it was a total waste of 2 copays. We have now seen Dr Cowan(who is absolutely fabulous) and he diagnosed my son with a deviated septum, sinus cysts,a bone spur, and he needs turbinate reduction. In addition his tonsils are so enlarged they are 50% obstructing his airway. He’s having surgery for all these issues in just a few days.If you or someone you love is dealing with any complicated sinus or ear issues, save your money. See a well reviewed ENT, and not Lindsey Leonard.I'd leave her zero stars if I could.Just glad we got a second opinion, and my son is on his way to being healthy again."
"This office is great! Scheduling was a breeze, they were very accommodating, and the office was very clean. I wanted to give a shout out to Lindsey for being so helpful and kind. She went above and beyond to help me find some much needed answers. Overall great experience from top to bottom!"
"Upon seeking assistance for vestibular problems, I consulted with Dr. Showmaker at the lees summit office. Following an initial interaction with the nurse/nurse assistant, who was notably kind, I proceeded to meet with Dr. Showmaker. Regrettably, the consultation lasted no more than 5 minutes. Despite outlining my symptoms, the doctor expressed uncertainty regarding the conditions I described, offering little to no insight. Just repeating “hmm, I don’t know” multiple times. He conveyed an inability to diagnose my condition and suggested a referral to a neurologist, mentioning scheduling tests for inner ear problems, which was the primary reason for my visit to this ENT. This experience felt both financially and temporally wasteful, and I found Dr. Showmaker's approach to be pointless. Subsequently, I sought care at a clinic on Broadway, where I encountered a knowledgeable and compassionate audiologist specializing in vestibular/inner ear problems (Kaman Carranza). This audiologist conducted a series of tests, provided a diagnosis, and dedicated her time to address my questions and concerns. Following this, I received communication from Dr. Showmaker's assistant several days after this appointment with my new doctor/audiologist, who, rather than offering guidance, advised me to search for my diagnosis on google. This disappointing lack of consideration and empathy further underscored my decision to seek care elsewhere, leading me to opt for continued treatment at the Broadway clinic. I wanted to let everyone know the experience I had!"
"They all about money. No service or respect. Doctor spent only 2 minutes with me and charged me for nasal scope, which he didn't do. Check in office staff are awful. I'll never go back there."
"We haven’t had the greatest experience With getting quality communication and treatment. After ear tube removal and a child in severe pain, I called to be seen. I was told it was normal and to see them 3 weeks later. I called again to ask if we could be seen as I know something is wrong ( severe pain and drainage) - again not listening and tell me that all kids respond differently. I finally demand to be seen, days later they get us in to find out his ear drum ruptured. I’m just frustrated at the lack of care or concern from this office. You will have to advocate for your self."
