"They are the worst. I have been trying to get a hold of them for 4 months to see what’s going on with my preapproval for my migraine treatment and they’re just flat out ignoring me at this point. They do not care about their patients and it shows. Such a waste of time and money"
"My Mother was a patient here and suffered very poor care up and down the system. Primarily due to arrogance and seemingly not being interested in what she and I, who had her power of attorney had to say. She was scheduled for an MRI to map the extent and locations of tumor growth. I told the staff that they would need to sedate her if there was the least possibility of any discomfort, as she would not be still under those conditions. They blew me off. Did the test, and she thrashed the whole time. They never bothered to even attempt the test under conditions I told them they would have to be prepared for on the initial test. They were then going to perform another procedure, where she could not eat after midnight.I left at 11 PM. I stopped at the nurse station at the neurology ICU to tell them I was leaving and remind them she had numerous snacks stashed on and in her table and remind them she had no impulse control and would eat as soon as she thought she was hungry. Showed up for her test the next morning to find out it was canceled because she had eaten a handful of cheerios she and kept in her drawer from yesterday's breakfast. Staff could not bothered to show basic competency and do their job, even when I reminded them of it. Surgeons wanted to operate on brain tumor. We wanted to hear what the overall plan to address the other cancer spots were ( lung and lymph system ). Extensive stay in the hospital and they never even approached having a comprehensive plan. I called administration twice to discuss the shortcomings of her care. They listened, but never bothered to get back with me about my concerns with their lapses. Even the hospice department related to me that her case showed substandard care. This is supposed to be one of the best units in the Country, let alone the area. All we got was squandered time and resources."
"A doctor said they would call NKC hospital to get my family member help. She told us to go to the ER right after the appt to get scans that she said she'd call in right away. We show up to the hospital, and they said they never heard from our doctor about us showing up, and we didn't get any help. The doctor also said she'd give a prescription to help with pain, but when we got the prescription, it ended up being the wrong thing. Three times, I tried calling the office to get ahold of the doctor and was told "Someone will call you back within a half hour." No one ever did. By the time they did call us back (4 days later), we already went to the ICU and got helped by someone else."
"I recently relocated to Missouri, when looking for a neurologist I came upon St Luke’s. Trying to make appointment was a horrible experience. I left several messages before I finally got a call back to see a doctor. Once the appointment was scheduled, I saw a NP. Why would I ever do that. Doug Schell seems very knowledgeable, but that is all. When it comes to care, he is CLUELESS. He doesn’t know how to properly complete paperwork needed for ADA accommodations. Instead of just saying that, he makes excuses for why he can’t do it…. I will never see an NP after this experience. Get you a real doctor…"
"We got an appointment the last month of our insurance months before the appointment datand they called the day before saying they don’t accept our insurance . We canceled the appointment because we couldn’t pay out of pocket and then the next day (day of appointment) they called saying they do accept it and wanted to know if we could still make it. We live in Wichita so no, we wouldn’t be there in time. We are so upset"
