"I wasn't expecting much being a wildlife photographer and having shot butterflies in Canada, the US, Mexico, Peru, and Brazil but i was pleasantly surprised. My kids loved it and the hand held nectar was a very nice touch. If you've got kids, they'll love this place."
"As a middle-aged man, I didn't want to love this. Maybe I wouldn't have, if I hadn't had my own kids there. But it really is something with plenty to entertain all ages of the group. In our case, ages 7-72, everyone lasted two hours, enjoying at least two activities, and half the group was ready to come back for another two hours the next day. The rainforest area (mostly amphibians and reptiles) was fun with some oddly cute characters. Even the piranhas were ready to interact! The mirror maze was really well done. The only downside is that you can't watch people run face-first into the mirrors from the outside. You have to go in and risk doing it yourself... dang. The banyan forest ropes room isn't complicated enough to be fun for most teens or adults, but it's also too easy for the tiny ones who walk through it like a playground jungle gym. Then, of course, is the 3D butterfly movie and the butterfly room. The movie is educational but done well enough to hold most kids' interest. The butterfly exhibit would have held our interest for as long as we were able to stay. So many species to hold our attention, and I never tired of watching the awe and wonder of people excited about a butterfly landing on the nectar bottles (provided at no extra cost), shoulders, and hair."
"We really enjoyed the maze and went through twice for fun! We had a fun time visiting and looking at the butterflies. The butterfly area is not very large, we spent about a half hour in side. Took lots of photos. The flower nectar sticks to feed the butterflies are a fun feature of the butterfly house, allowing you to get up close with some of them. There are also some lovely flowers, including a lot of beautiful orchids. We visited in mid afternoon, and it wasn't too crowded. The videos are mildly interesting. They are not of a good quality; not well cut, grainy, etc… There is an overwhelming chemical smell all throughout the three floors: gift shop, Science Center, etc. Not in the Butterfly enclosure thankfully."
