The Westin Kansas City at Crown Center

"I went with friends and we really enjoyed our day. All the shops were fun to shop in except the candy store. It wasn't the chocolate store. We walked in on the left side of the portable divider. An employee was standing there and told us to walk out and enter on the other side. There weren't any other people entering or exiting. They're rude, and we will never enter again."

"I have few complaints about the room, service, or location. My concern lies entirely with the lack of access to stairs during our stay, which involved the immediate aftermath of the mass shooting at Union Station following the Chiefs parade and rally. We experienced the same at Boulevardia last year. I expect a response and full explanation as to why guests are restricted from stair access during large events. This is unreasonable, unsafe, and outrageous. Your elevators are so unfathomably slow that we ended up on freight elevators TWICE thanks to empathetic staff members. It goes without stating that this is an enormous fire safety issue, which I will be relaying to city inspectors. I’m even willing to forgive being denied access to the building, despite having a wristband, in the pandemonium after the shooting. I did push my way in out of fear for my safety, and Westin did compensate us for one night, which I felt was entirely reasonable. I’m still perplexed as to how it’s justifiable to restrict stair access to guests when your elevators leave much to be desired."

"My stay at the Westin hotel in Kansas City left much to be desired. I'd rate it 2 out of 5 stars. The overall ambiance was marred by a stale smell, and the rooms failed to exceed the standards of an average hotel. The layout featured a lot of wasted space. Moreover, the food and drinks were overpriced and of low quality. Navigating the hotel was challenging due to poor directions, and the staff lacked friendliness. The bar seemed understaffed, contributing to a less-than-pleasant experience. Overall, there are significant areas that could use improvement."

"This is our favorite hotel in K.C for a couple's getaway! My husband and I love coming here. The corner rooms are huge and so comfortable. The hotel is gorgeous. Staff are professional and helpful. Best part is location to Crowne Center and Union Station. You can park your car at the hotel and walk to so many attractions and restaurants. We can't wait to return!"

"This is a hotel aimed at large conference groups. Not ideal for a romantic get away. The hotel is huge and benefits from a connected shopping mall. Breakfast isn’t included so be prepared to spend $15-20 if you dine in-house. But it’s very tasty! Best pancakes I’ve had in ages. The service was absolutely fine; reception and door staff great. Room wasn’t cleaned at all in the five days. They popped in to change towels and to replenish the water, but that’s about it. I had to ask for more coffee/creme every day. I’d stay here again, but only if attending as part of a group."
