"They was good and helpful to find us a matching floor parts we needed"
"Selection limited, I suspect they primarily sell overstock or closeouts as they receive them. The items we were interested in were either sold or they only had a fraction of what we needed."
"Great prices, lots to choose from. Went with carpet tiles to accommodate our farm house, the gentleman was very helpful."
"Wen't to Cardin's in Springfield looking for some flooring. The gentlemen there was helpful and attendant to what I was looking for. He showed me a rack of sample pieces of what I may be looking for. I picked one out that was perfect and I absolutely loved it ! Then he said That it was a maple piece that they had at one time but I would have to go to the Republic store to get it. He was even kind enough to give me the piece to take to Republic. I liked this style so much I reluctantly drove all the way to the Republic store to get it. I walked into the Republic store and talked to the guys there who showed me some flooring they had there on the floor. I gave them the piece from the Springfield store and told them they had just send me over to get this MAPLE flooring and you would have it in stock. The guy kinda giggled and said it was not maple it was HICKORY and he would go get me a box. I explained I didn't need a whole box, just about 7 or 8 pieces to do what I wanted to do. He said they couldn't break up a box because it was all different lengths in the box and the box was over $60. After some thought I decided I would be willing to pay for 4 times more than I needed because the sample I had was PERFECT for where I wanted to put it. so, we wen't to the cash register and I paid for an entire box so I would get what I came for...the product I had a sample of..At that point I said "Now, I'm not gonna open up this box at home 30 miles from here and find out that it is not the same product am I ?" He adimately ASSURED me it would be a PERFECT match . When the guy brought the box out I said " Are you SURE you don't want to cut that box open and make sure it's the same product ? I live a LONG way from here." He also insisted it was exactly the same product. I believed him and drove the 30 miles to my home. Well, once home I was excited to lay some out on the floor and picture what the finished job would look like. I found out on the very first piece that not only was it NOT the right color, it wasn't even the same TEXTURE. So..at this point I am STEAMING mad... I called the store and the same guy told me that I MUST be mistaken and he was positive it was exactly the same . I said "Are you telling me that what I am looking at, I am not seeing ? I can plainly see it is not even close to the same" He said "Thats right, I sell ACRES of this stuff, I know what I'm talking about" I told him I would be bringing it back. SO.......I drive 30 MILES BACK to Republic where I tell the guy "Ok, now I am 2 hours and 75 MILES into this deal and it's ALL WRONG. The guy takes my sample piece and the WRONG piece and clips them together and spends 3 minutes trying to convince me they are the same when another employee comes up and sees they are not even the same TEXTURE or the same color..... He says he will give me my money back because they don't even carry the product I was after and goes about his business as if I wasn't even there...I take my $ and sample piece and leave the store. I have been buying home improvement materials for over 30 years and NEVER have I had a WORSE experience........"
