"It was "okay." I was a walk in, on a Sunday afternoon, and I had to wait 30 at least. They only had maybe 4 nail techs and about 50 chairs. Of course, they recommended the $$$$ pedicure & I said I want the $$$ pedicure and a manicure. Pedicure was "good", not great, manicure was not. Paid $75, including the tip. They do not use a fast drying topcoat & didn't send me to the drying table with fans. She told me to wait 5 min. For my nails to dry & I waited 10 min. and left. I was very careful but still managed to have the polish on both thumbnails, all wrinkled up. I live an hour away, so I turned around & went back to have them repaired. I had to wait another 30 min. & then she fixed them & she had me go to the drying table. Needless to say, I didn't have time to do anything else while I was in town that day after that & I will spend my money elsewhere next time."
"Very relaxing, enjoyable mani and pedi with a friend for her birthday. I got a basic regular polish mani. The girl was so sweet to fix four of them ,after I had to use the ladies room, before they had dried completely. Beautiful interior design and something you don’t expect in a little shopping center."
"Very dirty. Needs to be swept, mopped, and dusted…Charge for their wine unlike most places ($8) and served me white wine hot…the lady was nice however …. Just used to clean places that serve complimentary drinks ."
"Alice did a fantastic job making a vision of mine come to life. I showed her a couple of background colors and like 5 design photos and she put it together then appeased my question of “how do you think a little white for snow would look?” She could have easily said it wouldn’t have looked good and I would have accepted that. But she tested it out for me and I love it. Just like any other profession there are great, good, and bad nail techs. Thank you so much Alice it came out so fun for my trip to the mountains next week."
"We visited Lux on Saturday, Aug. 13. We aren’t from the area and were in town visiting my aunt who lives in Bentonville. My daughter, 10, got a gel pedi and a dip mani, I got a dip mani and my aunt a dip mani. My aunt and myself were sat a few aisles away from the pedi chair my daughter was taken to. The same woman gave my daughter both services, the mani and the pedi. I walked over before she began working and requested her give my daughter the deluxe pedicure. It was $57 plus an additional cost for the gel polish. I wanted her to have a relaxing experience. I didn’t see my daughter again, up close, until all of our services were complete and we had paid and tipped. As we started driving, my daughter began tearing up. She said as soon as I walked away to get my mani done, the woman set a bowl of acetone on her right leg, propped against the side of the chair, and instructed her to soak her hands in it to remove her dip polish for almost the entirety of her pedicure. She sat with her arms all twisted to the left side of her body, unable to relax and lay back. The woman then drilled off her old dip towards the tips of her nails and cut it off, along with her nails. (She had asked not to have her length trimmed.) After they were trimmed, she dumped the nail/dip trimmings into the pedicure bowl—where her feet still soaked! She had to soak her feet in that for a few more minutes while she finished her pedi. Her polish was sloppy and uneven. Then she rushed through her mani. At first glance it wasn’t bad, but once she pointed it out, I realized I’d paid for unsanitary, sloppy, lazy, rushed work. She asked for rounded nails and got squared-ish, uneven nails. They were bumpy and crooked. We had plans the rest of the day and didn’t have time to go back for them to be re-done. Even if we’d had the time, my daughter would have fought me on going back. We had her nails re-done as soon as we arrived back home to Springfield, MO. By Monday her toe nail polish was chipping off. (3 days later) I called to discuss this with someone at Lux and was given an email address to send my complaints to. I emailed pictures along with the details of our visit. I gave them three days to respond and heard nothing. I called and asked if they had received my email. I was informed they hadn’t got to it yet but would look at it and contact me. After waiting another 3 days, I called again. The woman who answered the phone didn’t know what I was talking about. After explaining my story again she put me on hold, came back and said “Did you read our sign on the door that says ‘No Refunds’?” I told her I did see them. I told her I was attempting to let them make things right, but couldn’t get a follow up. She said her manager had seen my email and “didn’t see anything wrong by looking at the pictures”. I asked her if she had read the details and she suggested I re-send my email. Frustrated, I re-sent it, never heard back from anyone and gave up after that. I can’t believe this salon did nothing to try and make this awful experience right. I feel I’ve been extremely patient and feel that leaving a review is my only option. Our experience with them was frustrating, unsanitary, unprofessional, lazy, and rushed. I feel like they believe that by posting signs that say “No refunds” protects them from any wrong doing and allows them to do sub-par work. My aunt also left a review on their texting system and never received a response. I feel it needs to be said, I had a good experience with my manicure. Alice was awesome and did a great job. My aunt also had a great experience. It seems like they rush through and provide terrible service to children because they aren’t being watched and the child isn’t the one paying and tipping for the service. That’s what this experience left me feeling like. My advice—If you take your child there, be present for the service. And if you have a bad experience, good luck being heard."
