"The staff are very nice here and care about the health of your hair. I go to Shaka. But all do nice hair. Locs, natural hair, braids, silk presses and more. . I get all types of styles and Shaka is one of the few locticians in the KC area who can repair locs. She's great with a crochet needle and hook."

"My braids are unraveling in less than a week of installment. These twists cost me $170 and I feel the quality of this job wasn’t worth near the amount... When I reached out to the owner about my issue am having along with photos (via text); this is how we’d done most of our communicating. I requested a re-twist of problem areas or a refund. I was was told that “ I don’t know what you did with your hair after you left...” and “ after my services are complete I owe you nothing!” There was no resolution to this issue.. I do not recommend this Kalmia at Unity Salon."

"Had an appointment at 9 am, showed up at 8:45. 9am no braider, text no response, called at 915 no answer no response. It’s now 9:30 another client showed up for another braider at 9 her braider has not shown up. These braiders want deposits and place so many stipulations on making an appointment, yet don’t hold themselves to the same standards. Have the decency to say I’m running late, provide an ETA.... the same as you’d expect from your client!"
