"I stopped by The Market today for some last minute items for Thanksgiving and I was so thrilled to see the renovations made to this store and browse the wide variety of items. Don't be misled, this is a small store, but they have intentionally and carefully curated the shelves and cold storage with the staples you need and a full selection of other great products to make it a special trip. I was in this same building when it was a different grocery store years ago and it's hard to tell it's the same space. The makeover and renovation is incredible, and its location in historic downtown Peru is critically important. Every staff member I visited with [note: I'm the awkward guy who loves to chat with everyone when I shop] was very friendly and excited to be working there, including a few college students and a recent implant to the community. I was fortunate to meet Lindy, one of the owners, and she was so proud of the store and what it means to the community. Grocery stores in small towns are oftentimes the backbone of the community. The Market will hopefully serve as a key piece in the comeback story of the Peru downtown business district and a source of community pride, both for the locals and the college family. To see this kind of investment in a small town is refreshing and inspiring. Kudos to the owners, the employees, and the community for this endeavor. I hope the students and the community residents will continue to shop local and support this wonderful local business."
