Torchy's Tacos 11919 South Strang Line Road, Olathe, KS 66062

"For me, this place has been over-hyped, but through a handful of dinner visits I'm finding dishes I enjoy. Most of the tacos seem like they should be packed with flavor, but often they strike me as a little bland and heavy despite the pop of colorful ingredients. Salsa and lime helps. So far the Mr. Orange blackened salmon taco is my favorite. The guacamole and chips are also mild, but I like it quite a bit. In all cases I've found the portions to be generous relative to typical street tacos, so you can likely get away with ordering about half as many as you normally would. The dining room is big and there are plenty of tables that can accommodate groups. The noise of conversations bounces around the space a lot, so it can be harder to converse during peak hours, but manageable. Staff have been friendly and helpful. You order at the counter, and turnaround has been pretty quick, so a decent choice if you need a quick meal. Update many months later: Returned for lunch and tried the Airstream Salad, a new favorite for me! Great flavors and textures, especially with the pistachios and mint, decently sized for an entree, and nice with the addition of the blackened salmon. Also tried the fountain fruit drinks, plenty sweet but a nice treat. Great service from the staff again. This visit brightened my prior opinion of Torchy's."

"This was our first time in the store, and we had a great meal! Wyatt was super friendly and helpful! And to top it off, everything tasted delicious and had a little heat to it. Highly recommend the queso and chips!"

"12/11/23 I got a taco . I mean a soft taco. I mean a chicken soft taco with spinach.. Even though it was basically $6 it was damn good. I also got a burrito I have not touched yet so I do apologize. They was wanting to charge me $4 for beef to add on this large burrito, I said no thanks, I want to see if it tastes like the old seven layer burrito that I miss very much from Taco Bell. I tried their queso with guac. That was pretty good but I didn't care for their chips. They seemed old or stale or something. My biggest complaint.. Is when I looked at the receipt it said I tip them damn their $7 and I don't even remember touching anything that would give them a tip. And why would I tip them especially if I have to clean my own table after I'm done? Two people eating. Two tacos, a burrito, queso and chips, some sweet dessert and one medium drink.. + tip (that I didn't authorize) $46.. I know I know, sounds like a lot when I could have went to Texas Roadhouse or something, it doesn't sound like a lot of food and it really isn't, was it worth it? Hell to the no. Would I ever go back? Hell to the no. Did I think it was good? Yeah it was cool."

"Made the decision to stop in and try this place on a chilly rainy day in KC and we're glad we did. Sure the tacos are all pretty much $5 and up, but as the sign says they're "damn good"! I ordered the Crossroads it was filled with brisket, cheese, lettuce and avocado. I chose the corn tortilla for my shell. When the taco arrived at my table, I was completely blown away with the smell and presentation. The sauce they give you is also delicious. The taco itself was awesome. After leaving the restaurant I could smell the corn tortilla on my hands. Definitely worth trying out."
