"I wouldn't trust the dentist as far as I could throw him. Chris the hygienist was great and she supposedly has about 40 years of experience. I was supposed to have an oral exam and cleaning done the same day, but the exam wasn't done on that day because the doctor was 30 miles away. Chris seemed competent, doing a thorough job of cleaning at the first appointment, however she called me a few days later saying she must've written my social security number down wrong, and at that point I had a gut instinct the office was mismanaged. When I went today, the other hygienist couldn't find my chart and the dentist had to advise her of where it might be. Chris was supposed to check ahead of time if my bitewings were done a year ago to make sure the insurance covered the ones at today's visit, but no one checked, and the dentist made up the excuse that he was on hold for an hour with the insurance company. I suggested he contact my previous dentist to verify, and he made another excuse. I flat out told him I wasn't going to pay for anything not covered by insurance and he agreed to absorb the cost. While taking the x-rays he bumped his arm into the part that holds the x-ray in place, apologizing. When the x-rays came back minutes later he poked around in my mouth, finding things that were wrong, even though none of it was mentioned by my previous dentist only 6 months previously. I think the worst part was when he took dental floss and jabbed it into the base of my lower crown repeatedly, saying I had a 1/3 gap, and he left the dental floss in between my teeth, saying it should come out easily but because it doesn't, there's a problem. I ended up having to take my wet fingers, trying to wind the ends around, and got the dental floss out myself. He said the crown needed replacing, even though no other dental professional recently said anything about it. And, if I really needed that crown replaced, he wouldn't have told me, "Ok, everything's fine, we're done"...he would have asked me for a time to come in to have the work done. I'm on the phone now with my dental insurance filing a formal complaint against this office and should hear back within 30 days. I trust Chris as a hygienist, but when the dentist asked me today if I had a fear of dentistry work, I thought to myself that the only fear I have is his competency as a dentist. I have no trust in him. I don't know if it's just in St Charles County or Missouri or the entire US, but I'm sick of the dental community giving itself a bad name by con-artists that just make up things that are wrong with your mouth just so they can rake in more money for themselves. I've read reviews on a few other dentists in this area, and they're not pretty, verifying what I'm saying that these dentists are out to make money at the expense of individuals that have no clue that the dental work didn't need to be performed in the first place."
"DR. Aly is the best, he has been working with me for some time because I have been a dental slacker and because I have serious medical issues that can't be fixed until I am dentally cleared. He and his wonderful staff have been seeing this through for almost 6 months. Soon I will have my brain surgery done and will be healthy. People don't realize how important dental health is until you have other complicated medical issues. Any implanted device has a chance of failure if your dental health isn't good. I drive 2 hrs to see him when I am at my summer home and 22 hrs when coming from my Winter home. I know I've been a slacker but he is non judgemental and just wants the patient to be at their best. He is always kind and gentle. He babies his patients and for those of us deathly afraid of dentists he is a comfort. He senses how intimidated patients are and knows how to soothe. And does his best to make the patient comfortable. He is one of the last dentists that use nitrous. Which helps in a jam. I can't say enough about him. If I had met him 15 yrs ago I would have much better teeth. Because I would have done my preventative like a good little girl. But seriously he and his staff have been GREAT!!!"
