"I'm from Texas. I've eaten at Texas Whataburgers many times. First visit to this Springfield location. At lunch peak on a Sunday, my burger was ice cold. Like, the cheese wasn't melted at all, the patty was cold, the bun was cold. My onion rings were hot, at least. Very disappointing for an $11 meal. :("
"Great place. I was curious about the bad reviews, but our experience was amazing. Fast, delicious food and all clean. We visited in New Years and they were super. I ordered the spicy chicken sandwich."
"I want to start out by saying that I don't want to be "that guy" but I used to work at a Culver's for 4 years and, like this restaurant, the Culver's I worked at had also just opened when I started working there. So believe me when I say that I understand how hard it is to work at a place like this. It was probably one of if not the hardest jobs I've ever had. And I always try to be positive and patient in my reviews. But with all that in mind, this was easily the worst dining experience I have ever had. First off, when we got in the lobby there were maybe 2 or 3 tables with patrons already eating, The register area was vacant and took about 5 minutes before someone came up to it, which is not really that big of a deal to me since we had already ordered online. But it immediately set the tone for what was about to happen next. I went to the restroom to wash my hands only to find that the light was out. I did not see a light switch and thought maybe it was motion detected? As far as I could tell it was not as if I had gone in any further I would've had to let go of the door which I really didn't feel like doing, so I just walked back out into the lobby. When an employee did come to the register she still did not greet or acknowledge us to which we then informed her that we had a mobile order put in. She asked for the name and then walked into the back area for another 10 minutes while other customers started walking in. While this was going on I saw, in the kitchen area, at least 2 employees walking around aimlessly who clearly were not doing anything. At this point I'm starting to realize that this restaurant has a pretty obvious management issue. It really seems like they aren't investing time into properly training their employees before scheduling them to work on their own without assistance and I could very clearly tell that the manager was either, not present at all, also had no idea what they were doing, or was overwhelmed by the amount of new employees who had no idea what to do. My guess is the last since I only saw one person who looked like they had a manager's uniform on and the amount of employees there tonight definitely should have had at least another manager or 2 to help out. By the time we got our food 4 other people who came in after us got theirs, which still isn't a big deal, except for the fact that it took 30 minutes for us to get ours. When we finally got it we took it home and finally got eating and realized that our fries and onion rings were cold. Not just a "10 minute drive home" cold. More like "these have been sitting in a bag for 5 minutes before they even got to us" cold. I have realistic expectations for how warm our food will be after a 10 minute drive and could tell that they were not very fresh. Again, all of these things are fine on their own, but adding them together is really disappointing and frustrating. I ordered the chili burger and was greeted to a burger without chili on it. I don't really care if you miss like, ketchup or onions on my burger. But when I pay extra for a topping or side dish it really REALLY sucks when it gets missed. What they did put on my burger was a seriously overkill amount of lettuce and mustard. SO much mustard. All I could taste on my burger was mustard and some onion. The picture is hard to tell exactly how much there is but all of the yellow on the lettuce is mustard, not the color of the lettuce. I'm not sure if they have a weird thing about mustard here but it felt like even if their gimmick was "we make sure you get a taste of mustard every bite!" It still would've been overkill. It was literally so much that I actually started forgetting I was eating a burger and not just dipping bread in mustard. Overall I'm really annoyed by this place because I've heard such good things and I do think they have good food to offer but it REALLY feels like they are opening so many stores that quality control has gone out the window. This restaurant needs to either: get better, or close so that something good can take its place."
"Very good food!!! Never had Whataburger before but definitely better than most fast food burger joints!!! Fast service, about a 15 minute wait for food, but place was packed with people so understandable there. And the food was hot and delicious!!!!! Will definitely be back!!!!!!"
"Really??? This is what yall have been lining up down the street for? A dry, thin, double meat hamburger with some fries. I had to wait in a long line; then, I had to wait a long time to bring me the food. The poor kid who brought it wasn't much smarter than the cow that gave up its life for the burger. Wel....it that's cow. It may be Bill Gates lab grown meat. I find it hard to believe everyone has been acting so crazy over this food. Wendy's is better."
