"We Arrived 10 minutes early for our 7 o’clock booking for 7 people. It was our daughter’s 31st birthday and she wanted to go here. When we arrived the blonde maître Dee said it would just be a few minutes because the party before us was just leaving. As we were standing there, waiting, another crowd comes in, and several other couples and the couples were seated. The owner comes out and speaks with someone from the other big group. Shakes hands and said, don’t worry they can handle it. Long story short when our table was done and ready. A young man maître de came out and gave the group our table. They apologized to us. But we still stood there for over 45 minutes. Our grandson fell asleep on the floor. Finally, after several complaints from us. They got an empty table. And we still had to sit and wait another 20 minutes before we got water and bread. Finally, our waitress came around got us drinks and we ordered food. After arriving at 7 o’clock. It was 835. We got bread. And not till almost 9 before we even got our appetizers. We ordered the bruschetta was not thrilled at all about it. They also stated that they had ran out of mashed potatoes. My husband, daughter, and son-in-law, all ordered steaks. And my husband and daughter got mashed potatoes but son-in-law did not. He got pasta on the side. When he was the one when we ordered said that’s about the only thing he’ll eat is mashed potatoes. The vegetables were undercooked, and all steaks were rare when two were ordered medium rare, and one well done. I had the pasta and seafood. And it was very good and tasty. Overall for the prices that they charged, this was not worth it at all! Very disappointed on service and food preparation."
"We ordered the Bruschetta and I was very disappointed. I was clearly not freshly made and had no Basil. I ordered the duck. For the price it was plated poorly. The plate was drowned the berry sauce. Nothing special about mashed potatoes. The duck tasted good as did the sauce sauce. My wife had the Nicola pasta which she really liked. It wasn't busy when we were there but we only saw our server to order and to pay."
"This place has Romantic vibe. Food wise is pretty good. We ordered tortellini and duck, both were decent, but mushroom soup was super over salted. What I did not like for sure was that the waiter did not taken the soup off the bill, when we just tried it and said that it’s super salty. Other than that, I would recommend this place."
"Food was honestly very delicious....but I think it's overpriced. 10 dollars for a very basic salad and 26 dollars for tortellini but not fresh parmesan. I know, very picky....corking fee is 20 per bottle. They do have an excellent wine list, but man, the prices are crazy high."
"In town visiting family, and they took us to Nicola’s. The atmosphere seemed pretty nice. It was dark and quiet in the restaurant, which I personally liked. I ordered the escargot for my appetizer, and it was very bland. There needed to be more cheese, salt, and just more flavors overall. For my entree, I ordered the medium rare gorgonzola filet. The steak was straight up rare. I don’t think the gorgonzola went with the steak at all. Also, the steak was smothered in sauce, which I did not care for. I feel that if you have a good steak, then the meat can speak for itself. The steak seemed wholly under seasoned and that they were relying on the mountain of sauce to give it any flavor. The mashed potatoes were fine, and so were the vegetables. The plating was also sloppy for the price we were paying. As for dessert, I had the berry tiramisu which I actually enjoyed. The tiramisu had just the right amount of sweetness, and the berry flavor complimented it nicely. The mascarpone was also very pleasant. It was definitely the best part of my meal. On the bright side, our waiter, Ashlynn was very personable and knowledgeable about the menu. Ashlynn was enjoyable to talk to, and she was attentive. She was the best part about our experience at Nicola’s."
