William C. Strutz DDS - Practice Limited to Periodontics

"I am a Veteran and normally receive dental care at the VA. They referred me to Dr Strutz for a consultation after a crown fell out taking part of what was left of my tooth with it. The remaining part of the tooth was broken at the gum line. When I arrived at Dr Strutz office, it was quiet, unlike any other dental office I’d been too. His assistant, a temp from an agency, arrived moments after me. Dr Strutz asked if I knew why I was there. At first, I thought that was a strange question, but I told him I was there for a consultation to see if the tooth could be saved and capped again. We chatted briefly about our military experiences and then headed to the exam room. A full set of X-rays was taken and then we headed to the procedure room. The tooth could be saved and rather than have me return, he did the procedure. Lots of anesthetic was injected, and then a little more. I don’t care who does the shots, they always hurt! When I needed a moment after the 4th one, he teased me a little but gave me that moment to rinse my mouth and rub my tingling nose. Haha He was as quick as he could be removing the gum and exposing enough of the tooth that a crown could be placed. He had scheduled two hours for the visit and was done with everything, including scheduling the follow up visit and giving me post care instructions by the time his next appointment arrived. He was gentle, thorough, explained what he was doing, and I was impressed with how he interacted with the temp assistant. She wasn’t familiar with how the computer program worked exactly and he taught her without any anger or irritation in his voice. You really couldn’t tell they hadn’t worked together prior to my appointment."
