"I recently visited Jinya with friends last weekend, and while the ambiance was cool, the dim lighting made it difficult to read the menu. We ordered a variety of items including Jinya pork bun, impossible bun, crispy chicken, spicy chicken ramen, and Jinya chicken ramen, but unfortunately, none of them lived up to our expectations. It seemed like it might not have been their best day as the food was not satisfying at all. The service was decent, although the waitress seemed rushed despite the lack of many customers. Compared to other ramen restaurants in Overland Park, I had higher hopes for Jinya, but unfortunately, there is a lot of room for improvement in all aspects of the dining experience."
"I've been here multiple times now, and never a bad experience. Love the seasonal special ramen, but the JINYA Tonkotsu Black is hands down the favorite! The spicy umami miso ramen is also delicious, especially with thin noodles. It's worth the 30+ minute drive from where I live."
"We had a truly wonderful meal in a beautiful space. The service was excellent and personable. Every single thing we ordered was absolutely delicious."
"Unbelievably delicious ramen, fresh steamed dumplings, soft yet crispy oyster balls…need I say more?? Jinya Ramen Bar can be found in Overland Park, Kansas right next to Cookie Co. We started our evening at Jinya Ramen with the special peach cocktail and hot sake. For appetizers, we enjoyed the sauteed dumplings, chicken wings, crispy brussel sprouts, and octopus balls. There are so many tasty appetizers…it’s hard to pick just one! I ordered the Spicy Chicken Ramen and was very happy with my meal. The sauce was seasoned perfectly and the spinach was super fresh. For dessert, we tried the green tea mochi balls and the chocolate mochi balls. If you have not checked out Jinya Ramen yet, make sure to add this to your KC bucket list! Thank you to Jinya Ramen and Yelp KC for the experience and incredibly tasty meal!"
"This place was bigger than I expected for a ramen place! And very pretty. Lots of attention was paid to the build out (although the acoustics make it tough to hear conversation between more than 2 people). They cheerfully greet everyone who enters :) I went to an event here that was fantastic (disclaimer: I didn't pay for most of my food): Got to try 4 appetizers (!) AND ramen. We had attentive and friendly service and I got to meet new foodie friends. The tempura-fried brussel sprouts are awesome: they secretly par cook 'em before frying so they're perfectly cooked through without having to fry till the batter's burnt on the outside. (Yummy with the table's gochujang sauce. Also, I love having gochujang on the table!) The octopus balls sound intimidating but they're totally approachable! Great sauces and texture: they're like a hush puppy that got Vegas Sushi Roll treatment. The wings were good (I mean, I had 2...) but the pot stickers were better: great sear, flavorful filling -- I didn't even need dipping sauce. (And I love sauce!) Since it was my first time, I went with the standard Spicy Chicken Ramen and it was perfectly spicy: the kind of spice that builds (so don't underestimate it and go crazy adding more spice!) but doesn't overpower the rich, complex broth. I loved the spinach in it (wasn't sure I would, but it totally works) but you absolutely must get the seasoned egg as an add on. That creamy yolk is the perfect addition to the broth and skinny noodles. The mochi ice cream wasn't the chewy mochi texture I expected but the bite of cool sweetness was a great end to the warm and spicy meal. Thanks to Yelp and the whole Jinya team for having us and serving 60+ people in orderly fashion."
