She knew what to do with her crate, her toys, and quickly caught on to where she was allowed to relieve herself vs. not. She curiously explored her new home rather than being scared of things (and living in a city, there are a lot of scary sights and sounds!). Most importantly, Lily came to us as a very healthy and happy, social puppy! I will definitely be going back to the Gunslinger team if I ever decide on getting a second Toy Aussie! "We bought our toy aussie from Gunslinger in Louisburg. They have since moved, but I doubt much has changed regarding business operations. They are stellar! I was super surprised when there were no "kennels" for the mama dogs. They all lived in a big happy group in the breeders big, tiled basement. There were dog beds, dog toys, attendants to keep the dogs company and keep them happy. Big leather couches for relaxing. There was no overpowering smell of dog, even with so many dogs and puppies in the space. So clean! It was dog paradise. All of the dogs and puppies were litterbox trained! Absolutely blew my mind! The puppies had a bed to return to at night with a fence divider so they could be in their little family units. The owner is a vet and absolutely loves her dogs. It's very clear how much she cares. Our puppy was extremely sweet and healthy. We didn't have any trouble with him. He continued using a litter box with newspaper litter when we got him home. He was a nervous guy for about a week until he got used to our home and us. Once he figured us out, it's been smooth sailing from there. He has the best attitude. So lovey, strong herding drive, beautiful coat, healthy conformation, always aims to please. Some toy aussies look like a papillon cross to me, but our guy looks exactly like a shrunken aussie. Excellent breeding program. Our guy is nearly 2 now and just keeps getting better with age. We actually have him herd our chickens into their coop when a hawk or cat are near our yard. He loves doing tricks and going for walks. He's crazy smart and everything we wanted him to be. He's absolutely, 100% worth every penny we paid."
