"I am writing this on behalf of my sister who has never seen Dr. Burwell. She is supposed to be seeing him for a pre-OP check up, xrays,E.K.G, and lab work. For weeks Kim and her workman's comp liaison have made repeated phone calls to the office trying to get this office to send orders for these tests to be done before she can even see the doctor for her physical. The orders were never sent, even though we were told that they had been sent repeatedly. An appt. for today was made with the lab for her testing. My sister showed up to the lab for her tests today only to find out that not only had the orders not been sent, my sister was not told that the blood tests ordered required her to fast. She was to see the Dr. today for her exam, but thanks to the incompetence of the office staff, the appt. has to be rescheduled. My sister and her workman's comp. liaison have been lied to, blamed for the office worker's incompetence, and hung up on. Since workman's comp. Is paying the bills, Kim doesn't have much choice in who she sees to get this done. However, based on all of the speaker phone conversations that I was privy to, and hearing the lies, incompetence, and unprofessional behavior of this doctor's staff, I wouldn't bring my worst enemy here. If this Doctor seriously Hope's to have a successful practice, he should take a long, hard look at his employee roster and make some seriously major changes."

"AWFUL experience at this clinic. It was my husband’s appointment and he has had high blood pressure and been on medication since he was 15 years old (now 22). Several things were done wrong… Upon arrival, they charted my husband’s height as 5’6”, he is clearly 5’9”. The nurse or whatever you want to call her took my husband’s blood pressure with his arm straight up in the air, I do not know who trained this person but she needs to be retrained because that is most certainly not how you take a blood pressure. My husband’s blood pressure read 110/40 because of how she took it which is the lowest he has seen in his life. She also charted that my husband refused to tell her his race when A. She never asked B. That’s just a common sense answer. THEN, the NP Jared Deloach told my husband to come back at the END of the month to get lab work done and then it would be reviewed and then potentially put on medication. I am sorry but my husband has been on BP meds since he was 15 years old. Has blockage in his heart. A heart murmur. And an irregular heart beat. I thought some more initiative would have been taken to get him on some medication. Also, when we got home my husband was looking over his MyChart and also noted that Jared Deloach, NP charted that my husband told him that he is not interested in being referred to a cardiologist. He never once asked my husband if he wanted to be referred to a cardiologist. I love how he just assumed that. My husband changed hospital groups and now has a referral to a cardiologist thanks to Singing River Oschners"

"As long as Stacie Ramsey (Nurse Practitioner) is working with Dr. Burwell, I’m not going anywhere. She’s so amazing. She’s kind, caring and listens so attentively to whatever issues/concerns you may have. She has impeccable bedside manner. I trust Stacie completely and couldn’t ask for a better NP. My personal experiences with Dr. Burwell have been ok. That’s all I have to say about that..."

"As a nurse, I know what to look for in a doctor, office and staff. I also know what the red flags should be. I trust Dr Burwell with my families needs. The treatment and compassionate care while my husband was in the hospital for a YEAR with a near fatal case of pancreatitis is an example of how great he and his staff are."

"My son (21 yrs old) has been seeing this dr for 2 years for opiat treatment, suboxone. $100/ Mth. Plus the cost of the drug. He also put him on vivance knowing he also had a program with aderal. Papers were signed stating that he would randomly drug test him and was supposed to see a therapist. Neither one was done. Now he is in jail for possession of meth. This dr should not be in practice."
