"I am amazed at the level of care and attention that I’ve received from The Center for Breast Restorative Surgery. My Surgeon is Dr.Matthew Wise. He cares about what I want and he hears me. He is detailed oriented. He is talented on a scientific and artistic level. He teaches you as he explains things in a way a child could understand. I searched and searched for compassion , and I searched only top rated Doctors and hospitals . I went to two other Facilities who treated me the way THEY wanted to treat me and not the way I wanted to be treated .Finally I found The Center for Breast Restoration Surgery in New Orleans and meet Dr . Matthew Wise , who changed it all for me. He genuinely cared about what I wanted ! I’m so happy I came to The Center for Breast Restoration Surgery . I’m in the first stages of restoration and so far I’m treated like I’m a family member. I’m respected and heard as well as given some TLC finally. This is the place who has the cream of the crop Surgeons .Thank you Jesus for this fine Hospital. The entire staff has been kind and caring and giving ! The best Nurses and staff , from the first phone call to all the fine staff who look after you like your family . I’ll keep you posted I have just had the first surgery and I have another one scheduled to tweak things a bit . It’s a process so hang in there , I have a great out come so far .I’m excited about being restored and made beautiful again even at the tender age of 59 . Yes I have my dignity and beauty back . Things are beginning to look beautiful again and I’ve got the side effects of a flat tummy and up tops beginning to look like I’m a whole woman again ! Stay tuned for finale results !"
"I can't say enough positive statements about Dr.Wright and/or Dr.Cabiling and their staff for the amazing care I received from them. From the moment you walk through the door, everyone was very nice and made me feel welcomed. The office staff is amazing. The hospital, I have zero complaints about. Very clean, friendly, just WOW. I am a nurse of 22yrs and I am highly critical of physicians and facilities and have zero complaints. Nothing but gratitude for them all."
"I have had three different types of breast cancer, two in 2005 and the last in 2022, 17 years apart. I lived with the extreme mastectomy performed on my left side for 17 years because the only option for reconstruction due to excessive radiation, was a flap procedure. Only one doctor performed this procedure where I went and he wouldn’t do it. Said I wasn’t in good enough shape. Looking back I truly believe he knew they had given me too much radiation. Then last year when I was diagnosed again on the remaining breast with lobular carcinoma, another sloppy mastectomy was performed by their top oncology surgeon. I was a mess! I had one “dog ear” (where they end the incision for your mastectomy) between my shoulder blade and arm on my back and another on the other side underneath my arm making it difficult to sleep, wear a bra, lay my arm flush against my body, etc. Again the same plastic surgeon denied my request for reconstruction. Let me encourage all survivors, you don’t have to live like I lived for 17 years. This center will help you. Do you have to do the leg work to get started? YES. Go to the wherever you were treated and pick up your records. Sit there until they are ready for you. Don’t depend on the place you were treated to be prompt about sending your records to another facility because it won’t happen. Healthcare is a competitive business. I’m not sure what led me to Dr. Zafar because she is fairly new at the center. But she was wonderful, patient, caring, and an EXCELLENT surgeon. I sent in my pictures. (Will someone please tell me what “cloud” they are stored on so I can destroy them!) You will also need to see your primary care doctor for the required testing (EKG, bloodwork) Within a week I received a call, they could help me! The surgery is rough. I’m not going to lie. I wasn’t prepared for how extreme it is. Especially, the home care regimen after discharge. The first phase surgery lasted 9.5 hours. (Remember the hot mess I mentioned earlier), I think I remember saying I looked like the Bride of Frankenstein. Not a criticism, but incisions covered my body, but I had two breast, y’all! And the lower, saggy part of my tummy was gone! Dr. Z told me that I would be glad I had the surgery when it was over and she was right. EVERYONE at this center is top notch down to the woman who cleaned my room every day! They love working there and it shows. This is like no hospital you have ever been to before. Everything was nice, clean, and really what we should all expect from our health care facilities. I think the first night you have a one patient to nurse ratio, after that, maybe 3 patients to one nurse. I didn’t see any nurse, PT, or Doctor that wasn’t first class. You need to plan to stay in New Orleans after discharge for a week or longer, especially after the first phase. We took our motor home and it worked out great because it has two recliners I could sleep in. GET CUSHION ON AMAZON FOR YOUR TAILBONE! The after care is extensive. Give yourselves 2-3 weeks to feel pretty rough and then it will peak and you will feel much better and be able to do more for yourself. WALK, WALK, WALK. Before the end of the first week, I walked 1/4 of a mile twice a day increasing it daily. You will need strong legs because your arms are limited in what they can do. Bottom line, The Center for Restorative Breast Health is first class. They are great at what they do. I think they perform 30 reconstructive surgeries a week. I say this, but you will have to be responsible and have support when you get home. My daughter-in-law is a nurse and she removed my drains. I had a problem area from too much radiation that opened after a month. Find a wound care doctor. All hospitals have them. I’m 3 weeks out from my Phase 2 surgery and feeling great. My body is transformed. Drains finally gone again! If you are reading this and been though breast cancer and had a mastectomy, JUST DO THIS FOR YOU! Most importantly, have it done at The center for Restorative Breast Surgery. You won’t regret it!"
"What an amazing place. My wife recently had surgery at the Breast Center and while the surgery was obviously traumatic, the experience couldn’t have been better considering the circumstances. The attention my wife received was overwhelming. The surgeons were amazing. They were empathetic and they spoke to her/us like adults. They helped to put my wife at ease and give her the confidence she needed heading into her procedure. We expected the surgeons to be great. I don’t like saying we were surprised by the support staff, however, there was really no way to forecast just how amazing they would be. They exceeded expectations at every level. Each nurse that visited was nicer than the last. And because this is what they do, every person we spoke with was knowledgeable about her situation, her care and her needs. From the initial consultations, to the day we left the hospital, there was nothing we experienced that wasn’t stellar. Ok, there was a rolling table in the room that didn’t want to roll straight. Aside from my nemesis of a table, everything else was amazing. The nutrition team visited the room multiple times daily to take orders for their in-house chef and follow-up on the meals. Nutritional requirements were assigned to the room, so my wife’s food always showed up dairy free without having to ask. During a period like this, there is enough for women and their families to worry about. This hospital made that time as comfortable and easy as it could possibly be. If you or your wife are in need of services they provide, I would highly recommend a visit."
"I cannot say enough wonderful things about the center. It was a complete 180 from any breast cancer experience I've ever had. I would not think twice about recommending them to ANY woman who needs this type of breast surgery. They are organized, polite, empathic, responsive and do not miss a detail. They are also adept at handling patients from all over the US and the world."
