"I worked at John Ward’s for 3 yrs 11 months. John was great to work for but he passed away 3 mos into my job. Mrs. Lynn Ward took over and not knowing much about the business, it all went downhill from there. Besides losing business, we employees were treated with no respect and no consideration. ie:, some Friday’s I was asked to wait till the following week for my check due to her “not having time to do it”. I was told I would have to start wearing a winter coat to work in the office because the electric bill was too high. Doctor appointments I had on the calendar for weeks would at the last minute coincide with her hair and nail appointment and I was asked to reschedule. The commode never worked properly yet no effort was made to get it fixed. I could go on but surely the point is taken. The place is up for sale, though she’s told no one, and the last insult was her getting a new little helper, me asking for extra time off then when I attempted to return to work I was told “you quit”! She got the younger girl cheaper and wouldn’t have to pay me unemployment. (I could have contested but I chose not to) She’s a sly one. The newbie has no idea her job isn’t going to last very much longer. New owners should be moving in by the first of 2020."
