"I read the bitter reviews and thought that is all they are. I have been banking with First State for two decades. I’ve banked with the other banks and credit unions in Lucedale (all but one) and I can honestly say the group of folks in the Lucedale branch are the best I’ve ever worked with. I have a business too and they’re very professional and go out of their way to be of service! I have only called Waynesboro and the folks out there are very helpful when I needed them and they always were courteous and professional. I’ve had very bad service from two of the financial institutions in my town and solved my issues by just leaving. The last issue led me here."

"If you are looking for a bank that cares about it's people look somewhere else. This place is one of the most unethical and unprofessional places I have ever worked for or dealt with. The human resource department will not be of any assistance and if you go to her with a problem she will likely tell you to get over it or find the door. Management thinks they are untouchable and will make your life miserable and will take no ownership in their mistakes. Their pay scale is also a joke and a slap in the face for those with any experience or work ethic. Just an all around terrible toxic environment starting from home office down to the branch."

"I recommend using a bank who puts customers first. I had a big bag of loose change I wanted exchanged for cash. When I ask the teller she informed me she didn’t have time she was going to lunch. So I said customers aren’t important at lunch and another teller said nope not if she’s hungry and going to lunch."
