"A lovely experience. We saw the sign and turned around for a quick walk-about around the property. Unfortunately, we weren't able to visit the museum, nonetheless it was packed with information from the walking tour pamphlet and a rather large Confederate cemetery, statues and erected monuments provided by the Daughters of the Confederacy. KNOW your history, no matter where you claim your origin or ethnicity. Do not rely solely on the media nor secular history, do your own research. Thank you DOC for persevering our history and for holding up the ones who went before us inorder for us to have the "freedom" we have today! Remember, FREEDOM IS NEVER FREE!"
"Very educational. The man working was sweet and very informative. They have amazing things to see from the war. And great things to purchase in the gift shop. We loved our experience."
"Great museum and gift shop, wonderful collection and very well maintained. Staff and volunteers take pride in their museum, they had plenty of information and were willing to answer questions. Nice outdoor walking tour, nothing lengthy, can be walked in about 45 minutes. Museum is about the same time frame, video is a nice touch as well. This is worth stopping if you are in the area or looking for a relaxing weekend drive."
"It was an interesting but slightly skewed towards the Confederates view of history. The artifacts are worth the trip."
"A wonderful place to visit, friendly people, lots to learn"
