"Extremely dissatisfied, I have lived in several places in Oxford and this has been the worst living experience I have had by far. The staff is very nice and I believe a lot is out of their control, but besides that I would not recommend this place to anyone. Deadlines and time frames of when projects are supposed to be completed for amenities are un clear. Mess from renovations has been left out and tools and appliances that they do not need anymore have been forgotten about and left just laying around for months in the same spot. They offer no compensation for the lack of amenities that have been taken away and also they seem to always be adding additional charges for things that they want the residents to pay for that was not in our lease agreement. For example: taking away our Cable and dropping it on us that we will have to pay for water and sewage mid way through the lease. It is very unprofessional and poorly run."
"RENTER BEWARE. We’ve been at this complex for over a year now and things progressively get worse every single week. Our move in was the smoothest part of this whole process, despite having to deep clean before we could even move things in. There was pet hair, damage from previous animals, and half smoked cigarettes under our couch, along with an ant problem in one of the bathrooms. We had to mop the floor 3 or 4 times before you could see through the mop water. You will sometimes also have to constantly clean out the drains, as they will not drain and it be because there’s 4+ year old clumps of hair and gunk in them that you will have to get out. We originally chose this apartment for the amenities and pricing, along with the location of it not being directly in the middle of town. Unfortunately, we only got to use said amenities for a few months before everything got shut down and they raised rent, as well as tacked on MORE FEES, DESPITE it being in our lease agreement that they will cover water/sewer. There are constant construction noises that will wake you up in the mornings, along with you struggling to find a parking spot because they have equipment and materials taking a large portion of the parking lot. The renovations they are undertaking are not worth the price increase, as a portion of rent is so you may use said amenities. I’d rather be able to go to the gym or the pool than wake up and see new countertops and mirrors that are supposed to justify a $200+ a month increase in rent. All the while you’re paying this increase, be prepared for them to come into your apartment constantly and just leave messes behind if they’re renovating. IF the construction noises don’t wake you up, and you get blessed with ridiculously loud and unruly neighbors that love to scream and stomp at 3am with already thin floors and walls, putting in multiple noise complaints does absolutely nothing. While we understand these are homes and people are just being comfortable in their own home (which is absolutely okay during the day, and we have no problem with), management will do absolutely nothing about the ridiculous amount of noise during quiet hours, forcing you to just be exhausted and feel defeated. There have been multiple times where we have tried to get ahold of the office management to ask about something or to figure something out with our lease or environment, leaving voicemails and all, and they don’t care to give a call back. HOWEVER, if for whatever reason you have a balance due on the account and it’s a day past date, they’re very quick to serve their 3-day notice SAME DAY, despite not contacting back about a problem of the balance. They absolutely love stacking fees onto your account as well. The buildings themselves have their fair share of problems, which again, we understand; however, the electricity constantly goes out in our building, despite it still being on in other buildings right beside us. If it’s excessively windy, rainy, or icy, the power goes out in excess of an hour. IF YOU ARE A STUDENT, WFH, OR NEED RELIABLE INTERNET CONNECTION, go somewhere else that offers wifi and get some if you insist on living here. The internet they offer, despite being “upgraded” is absolutely terrible and loves to go out constantly. If you can manage to even load the webpage or app to run a speed test, prepare for it to not be able to handle whatever you need it for. FOR YOUR OWN SAKE, please do NOT move here. It’s not worth the price or the headache. And despite what they say, they WILL NOT help you. We cannot wait to leave."
"If you're considering moving here, I would strongly consider somewhere else. They have been dishonest and acted in bad faith throughout my time here. Several promises about amenities and features in the units have yet to be fulfilled. Construction has dragged on and finish dates keep getting pushed back. The parking lots are full of construction equipment and shipping containers. I'll preface this review by saying 4-5 years ago I lived at this same complex, then known as The Connection. Since then, several improvements and remodels have been done and the buildings have been spruced up. When I lived here I had no issues. Ownership never imposed new costs and what you signed for was what you paid. After moving back, new ownership has done the exact opposite. They have nickel and dimed residents every chance they've gotten. What was supposed to be Rent and Electric paid by me monthly has turned into also paying water, sewage, removal of cable, and now payment for a pet screening service and collection of my dog's DNA (that I will surely have to pay for). The notification about removal of cable was conveniently the day after the deadline to accept our renewal offers. Less than a week before move-in I was called and told my unit would not be ready (I requested a 2 bedroom). My options were to accept a 3 bedroom or have my lease cancelled. I was frustrated by the fact that this was dropped on me so late and also that when I voiced my frustrations, the manager was not helpful, combative, and after discussions told me I either sign in 24 hours or they will cancel my lease. I accepted the 3 bedroom under the assurance that my renewal rate would be based on a 2 bedroom instead of a 3. When renewal offers came out, this was not the case. And if I chose to move units, I would be assessed a fee. Upon move in, the unit looked as if it had not been cleaned, several cabinets had stains in them, toilets left dirty with grime, and stray paint splatter from renovations they did on the unit. Some vents were left extremely dirty, one having a car air freshener stuffed in the grate. I made it clear when I signed that I intended to re-sign here for my last year of school. It's my opinion they took advantage of that and made the conscious effort to tout all these improvements that were supposed to be done during my lease period, or at the start of the next one. We were told new mirrors would be in unit upon arrival, this was pushed back until October and I was forced to find day care for my dog while they came to do work. We were also told these mirrors would be "touch screen" mirrors that you could adjust the lighting and be able to turn on/off just by touch. I could care less about this feature, but again, it was another embellishment of what was promised. It seems to me they are taking advantage of tenants by promising one thing and then reneging on those promises. They've also chosen to forcefully add new charges and services that tenets are expected to pay for that were not in the lease agreement and never mentioned when deciding to sign here. If they don't pay? You are hit with a monthly fine. They've taken advantage of people's need for a place to live and abused their power to help pay off these grand improvements they've promised, only for tenets to never be able to enjoy them. Its horrible business practice and predatory behavior."
"I moved in right before renovations (June/July) and I am so disappointed. I don’t write reviews but I was starting grad school and could have avoided such a headache if I read reviews. Biggest concern is the lack of WiFi reliability if you are a student. When I moved in, there was saw dust everywhere, dried paint on floors & cabinets, a huge hole in my closet door, store stickers on the countertops, my bathroom was filthy, etc. I cleaned what I could all up before I moved everything in. Now, I’m told I’ll be facing charges for some of these things since it wasn’t in writing, when at the time, someone from the office came and took pictures of it to show management.. I don’t believe it makes logical sense for me to email them about something they were fully aware of but I will just be paying whatever I need to. The walls are very thin so I can pretty much hear anytime they turn on a light but that’s no one’s fault. Maintenance is very nice. The dog park is all mud. Grass is full of ant hills everywhere on property. The gates have not been closed once in 9 months so safety concerns are there."
"Since I’ve moved into a few days ago, Alexis has been super supportive with my move in and the maintenance team are super helpful, swift, and kind. The property is well maintained and the apartment itself is gorgeous words can’t even describe it!! So much space in the apartments and updated appliances to tailored yards! You will not regret moving here, Azul is best apartment complex in Oxford hands down!"
