"I had surgery here with Dr. Hand. All were kind from the moment I walked in. I found it odd that when waking up from surgery, my driver was not in the back with me but instead they were to meet me directly in the car. I have been to other surgery centers that do a better job with post op cleaning iodine off, etc. But that’s nothing to complain about-just a note."
"Went in for my first routine colonoscopy and was a little nervous to say the least about the procedure. Dr. Roussel, anesthesiologist, nurses, and front desk staff were all great. Everyone I spoke with seemed to be in a good mood and cared for me as a patient. Front waiting area is comfortable with snack and drink machines for guests (patient drivers). Highly recommended if you need to go for service. Also, I can attest, a routine colonoscopy is a simple procedure. Get it done if it's time."
"I’m so very impressed with this facility! My mom had to have a colonoscopy done here and from the time we walked in until the time her procedure was over, everyone was so friendly. You almost felt like family. Dr. Finlay talked to us once the procedure was done and he did a lot. Very thorough! Would recommend this place for any procedure you may have within the Memorial network!"
"I had surgery at Cedar Lake yesterday and had a fantastic experience from check-in to discharge. Everyone was friendly and knowledgeable. I am a RN myself which can make me a bit more particular about my care. The facility was clean and organized. I was in and out in no time and was treated with respect."
"I brought my daughter here to have a dental procedure done and and I arrived promptly at 6:15. I waited in the lobby until after 8 o clock. Around 8 I attempted to walk outside and smoke a cigarette, I was stopped by Cedar Lake’s staff and told I could not walk outside. I was told that they would be calling my daughter soon and I needed to stay inside(keep in mind they had two nurses stationed at the front door perfectly capable of telling me it was my daughters turn). So I went and sat back down with her and about 20 minutes later it was my turn. I was told a little while later it would be another 20-30 minutes before they even start giving her medicine and getting ready to take her. I was then told that during her procedure I would not be aloud to step outside for a minute to smoke a cigarette for her three hour procedure. When I inquired as to why, I was told that if anything happened during her procedure they might have to come find me and that time it would take for them to walk 40 feet out the door could mean life or death for my child. I asked if I could have someone from my family come and help me and and sit with her for a minute while I went outside, but they didn’t allow that either. I was told that if I went outside with my daughter they would have to start a process of questions over. Since they told me she had to wait 20 minutes for her medicine anyways, I decided to go outside. I was then stopped by another nurse who told me if I went outside they would not perform her procedure. I then went back and sat down and finished the questioning process and the nurse went and got her some oral medicine. Some other people from the medical staff there came and said that because of my hostility they would not perform my daughters procedure. I said okay have a good day and got my daughter and started to dress her. I was then told to wait and someone would come walk me out. I said no, I’m leaving now and left as fast as I could. As I was walking out he tried to say wait I’ll walk you out, I was done waiting. I was insulted. Lied to. I had my time and money wasted. You people disgust me. My daughter sat waiting, hungry and thirsty all morning at the direction of your staff for no reason other than their entertainment purposes. That same day my daughter had a new dentist. We absolutely did not need you. The next dentist we went to, that fixed her teeth, did it in his office and told me my daughter was a fantastic patient. She didn’t complain once. He also told me my daughter didn’t need to go to any surgery center at all. Your staff needs to get rid of their authority complexes."
