"We are truly greatful Dr. Hogan was gracious enough to squeeze our little girl in for a last minute appointment. It has been our experience of quite difficulty obtaining an appointment as many providers are booked for months nowadays so the wait was humbling and well worth it for us. Staff here were warm and welcoming and we left with the sense Dr. Hogan genuinely cared for the well being of our daughter."
"There are too glitches in the office management to warrant me to return to this Eye Clinic. 1) I was scheduled for a preop appointment, yet no one was in the office to see me. The office staff questioned me repeatedly about me having an appointment, until I pulled out my appointment letter to prove I did indeed have an appointment. It didn’t change the outcome, however, and this glitch postponed my surgery. 2) the patient is shuffled from station to station all in the illusion of being able to see the Dr. It takes hours to go through the process. I’ve been wearing glasses for a long time and I’ve never experienced anything like this procedure. I don’t plan on going back."
"Dr Hogan is a skill physician and did a great job with my cataract surgeries. I have 2 issues however. 1 Dr Hogan speaks extremely softly and I have hearing problems so I had to keep asking him to repeat things and speak up, which he never did speak up. 2 Your appointment time is a joke. They seem to chronically run 3-5 hours late. I agree with other reviewers who have said they have no consideration for their patients because of this. Otherwise everyone in the office seemed nice and did their jobs well. Had I had a choice I would have had my surgeries done elsewhere, like my eye Surgeon in Baton Rouge but he's not covered by my insurance."
"I brought my grandmother here for an appointment and she waited over an hour and a half to be brought back then it took another 2 hour for her actual appointment to be done. I see from the many poor reviews this is common. It’s incredibly unprofessional to overbook patients like this. It sends the message that this office has no respect for their patients time."
"I’m not even a patient but have brought multiple other loved ones here for Appts. Wait times are RIDICULOUS. No matter what time you’re scheduled or how early/on time you are, you’ll be here for HOURSSS. Bathroom always needs some attention. And I’ve witnessed a patient who hadn’t been here in a few years walk up to front desk in a panic about her eyes giving her sudden problems. As one who worked at an eye care clinic as an Operations Admin, I know that office is supposed to gather information about “problem eyes” and make every effort to accommodate as soon as possible or refer to other clinic for care. “How long has it been since you’ve been here?” “Maybe 4 years?” “Oh, no ma’am! Well what’s wrong with your eye?” “I don’t know, that’s why I’m here”, patient said. Obviously, staff would need more descriptive terms but patient was also obviously flustered/panicked. This is when you reassure patient and ask specific questions to draw out needed info while updating her patient profile. Gather updated insurance and contact info. “Well he’s in surgery today. You’ll have to schedule an appt.” This patient is obviously quite worried and is certain she needs to be seen sooner rather than later and you don’t even know why because you haven’t given an earnest effort to care for her. In her mind “schedule an appt” could mean 2-6 weeks from now! Of course she left quite frustrated. Even worse, she could be having a life-threatening vision issue and be driving herself around town searching for a provider’s office who cares! “People are so angry, these days!”, front desk staff said after patient left. I’M angry with how that was handled and I don’t even know that lady! And patient was never rude or disrespectful. She was only ever anxious and worried. It’s obvious to me and many, many others that this office staff (namely, front desk and management) needs training in many, many areas."
