"I real like Casey Adams, she was kind, listened to my concerns. Jumped right on scheduling me for test. And explained all my results so that I understood. She and her stuff are AWESOME."
"I suggest that you DO NOT USE, Casey Adams, as your health care provider. She is by far, the worst health care provider that I have seen; and I've been a patient with South Coast Internist for almost "30 years". She does not honor her word and gives very MINIMAL CARE. With the experience I had with her, she has no COMPASSION or FEELINGS! I feel that she is very UNPROFESSIONAL! Below is my original review: I have been a patient for many years at South Coast Internist (almost 30). This review is not against South Coast Internist, but one of their nurse practitioners, Casey Adams. I suggest that you "DO NOT USE" her as your health care provider. Let me explain: Since Dr. Azar no longer works for them, I was told I needed to see a nurse practitioner. I needed all my prescriptions refilled so I took the next available appointment, which was with Casey Adams (Nurse Practitioner). I saw her in January 2019. She asked me a few questions and she made a few modifications to my medications. She told me that she would have my medications sent to my local pharmacy. Mind you, she gave me one refill. She refilled them in February after I called to have them filled. I then called in March to let her know that I needed refills. Remind you, two months later!!! Meantime, I let them know that I didn't have Medicare at the time and was waiting on it to be reinstated. I was told by Casey Adams nurse, that she wanted me to make an appointment to see her I explained that I did not have insurance at the time and that I could not afford it. She then told me that Casey wanted me to have blood work done before she would fill my prescriptions. I explained to Casey's nurse that my sugar and A1C would be high, because I hadn't had my diabetic medication in a month, because I could not afford it. She still wanted blood work. After spending $70 for my blood work; I was told that Casey REFUSED to refill my prescriptions unless I made an appointment to see her. What!!!! That is not what I was told! She has my blood work and I saw her less than two months ago, why do I need to be seen. I don't!!! If she had concerns than they should have been explained over the phone by her nurse. She obviously can't take the time out of her day to call a patient. Dr. Nable Azar called me personally quite a few time over the years. However. I expect when I see a health care provider that they should be honest and honor their word. That is not what Casey Adams did. I have high blood pressure, diabetes, acid re-flux, depression. among a lot of other things. I just needed my other medications refilled, but she refused. I told her nurse that as soon as my Medicare was reinstated that I would be in to see her, which would be four week maximum. I let Casey's nurse know that I was concerned that I would have a heart attack or a stroke without my medication, I felt as if she had no concern. I assume that Casey was worried more about my my A1C and diabetes than she was my blood pressure. Also, I have been on Lexapro for quite some time and you are suppose to be weaned off of it, but it was halted. (cold turkey) To top it off, my examination consisted of her walking in and asking me a few questions. She didn't even check my blood pressure, only the nurse did. I have been diabetic for years and she didn't check any of my pluses or anything else. ANYTHING ELSE! She did the bare minimum that is expected as a health care provider. If you want minimal care from a nurse practitioner that's playing doctor, that doesn't honor her word, by all means use her. I WILL NEVER SEE HER AGAIN! In fact, because of this experience I will never be a patient of South Coast Internist again. Not to mention that my entire family uses them. Well at least they use to. Cheryl Ashley I was wrong about the dates, but her nurse should have advised me on this.. I saw her on November 15. My last refill was written on January 31st. Because I had my blood work done, she should have refilled my prescriptions in February!"
