The Station

"Recently attended an event here. The venue was decent and spacious since it's basically a large garage, the classic cars and neon signs were cool, and the pinball machines were fun... those were all my positives. Now to the negatives... I'm close to the host that threw the party at the venue and I found it very distasteful and dishonest when I learned the venue did not serve the food they were suppose to from the initial tasting the host went through... or when they did not offer compensation for not serving the correct food. It's just not a believable excuse to say you didn't know what was being served when you were the ones setting up the food and going in and out the kitchen all night. Bad business practice to lie to your customers and think they're not going to notice. I also found it tacky to bother the host of the event for further payment during their event because unplanned extra guests showed up. This could have been handled discreetly after the party ended or the next day via phone call or email. Everyone was having a good time and mingling and you're bothering the host for more money... wow so rude. I have worked in the hospitality industry for over half my life and if a customer wasn't satisfied after a party or event, then we would do something to make it right. Even if you have a no-refund policy, that shouldn't excuse you from doing what's right and compensating for mediocre unseasoned incorrect food. But everyone is out to make a profit and don't care about customer service. Thank goodness the host is great at throwing parties and generous and took the faults of the party with a shrug. This venue doesn't get a raving review from me and the next time someone hosts a party here my advice is get outside catering or better yet go to another venue that will be truthful."
