"This was not a good experience for me. I showed up on Tuesday, February 5 for an oil change and rotation. I waited 2 1/2 hours yo have the service performed. I left and realized that my receipt did not show the tires being rotated. I was told several times that this would be included with the price of the oil change and would be done. I then had to go back to the shop to have the rotation done. I had also checked the box for the free car wash and they did not perform that for me. The car was filthy, but I didn’t feel like going back a third time. In addition, I noticed two days later that the car was leaking oil in the garage so I immediately had to go back to Baldwin Subaru so they could figure out why the car was leaking oil. So I spent about another hour at Baldwin subaru to get this issue corrected. They claimed that something had not been tightened when they did the oil change. This should have been a simple visit. Overall it was not a good experience."
"The service at this dealership has drastically declined compared to when I used to bring my, then newer, Subaru here many years ago. My sunroof needed to be repaired along with the drain holes cleared (to fix a leak) so I thought the dealership would be the best place. I was informed that since this car is a 2005, it may be difficult to find the parts. They would try to find the parts and give me a quote. A week later I had not heard from anyone. I called to get an update but could not get anyone to call me to speak to me about my car. A couple days later I got in touch with my service advisor who said the technician is looking for the parts and I get a call later that day. Again, I did not hear back. This was a struggle to get anyone to talk to me about the car. I left message upon message and no response. After demanding someone call me, another service advisor sent me a quote through their automated system. The quote and invoice were not itemized, so I needed to talk to someone for an explanation. Again, could not get a response. I had run out of time to have this repaired. I just needed reassurance that the drain holes were cleared. The day before I needed the car back, I again had to get stern and demand to speak to someone. A different service advisor called and said the drains were cleared and the car is ready. In fact, the drains were cleared days ago. No one informed me. And speaking of information, the bill does not itemize what the repair was. The line item list what I brought it in for and then the total cost. So I have no documentation of what was done. The communication here is virtually non existent. I've never had to raise my voice to get the point across that I need someone, anyone, to call me back. I paid for my bill and had to come back the next day to pick it up before leaving town. I wish this was where the story ends. A couple items about the condition of my car. I know that my car is old and has seen better days. However, it should not be returned to me in worse shape than when it went in. I could tell that my sunroof was worked on because of all the greasy smudges on the sunroof switch that wasn't cleaned off. Then, the driver's seat. The leather is old and showing signs of aging with the finish wearing off. When I got the car back, there was a large tear where the driver sits about 8 inches long. Did the mechanic have something in his back pocket when he sat in the seat? I do not know, it was not acknowledged. I get the feeling that since my car is not a new shiny car, there was less care given to it. There was no respect for this aging Subaru that still serves my family well. We recently bought a 2024 Outback. I assure you, I will be bringing it to the southshore for service. Baldwin has lost my trust."
"I didn’t have an appointment scheduled. Went to service department because I had a huge bolt stuck in my right front tire. Heather Huber from service department immediately came out to investigate my issue and helped me with the problem. She was genuinely concerned for my safety and was extremely professional. She informed me throughout the service project. She goes above and beyond to help the customers."
"Bella was our service provider today, she has excellent people skills, and was very professional. She listened to my problem, took notes. She is truly a good addition to your dealership. The electric technician who (I don’t know his name ) worked on my vehicle took the time explain what he did to fix the problem he was also very knowledgeable and professional."
"I purchased my car from Baldwin in 2019 and have been using their service center ever since. Kenny is amazing with his customers. He knows my husband and I by name and is always so kind, helpful, understanding, and realistic when it comes to true life scenarios and costs of repairs. If I’m not mistaken, he is now the service manager. In my opinion, that is the best decision the business could have made because his outstanding customer service is a big factor in retaining business, including ours, especially in a world where customer service seems to be declining. Additionally, the other staff members have always been knowledgeable, down to earth, and available to answer any questions and address any concerns we’ve ever brought to them. I have never been caught off guard by the cost and maintenance needed for my car over these few years and they are great at being proactive in helping to maintain my car. I would recommend anyone to buy a Subaru, especially at Baldwin, and to maintain it at their service center during the life of owning the car."
