"I wish I looked at the reviews before renting from this pathetic excuse for a business. We rented a car round trip from the Memphis airport location. During our travels we called the Memphis location and asked how much it would be to return the car to a different location. They told us on the phone it would be an additional $200. Pricey, but worth it due to our changed plans. Three days after returning the car to the Atlanta airport a charge posted for $2093. Our total with the $200 charge should have been $360. When we called the airport location in Memphis they claim that the person that told us that was wrong and we would be stuck with the charge, then hung up on us when we continued asking questions. We called back, same story. We called budget customer service number and they said they cannot help us because Memphis is “franchised”. I am hoping that American Express will come through on this dispute but since we have nothing in writing about the $200 agreed upon over the phone I don’t have much faith. This business is shady to say the least, and their customer service is non existent. Please think twice before renting from here or Budget in general."
"I had an amazingly horrible experience at this Budget. After confirming my booking to drive from Memphis to Nashville twice I arrived at the Budget outlet only to be told that I was 4th in line on the wait list for a vehicle. There was no point that I was informed of being on a waitlist for a vehicle and the server was extremely rude and unhelpful. Aside from telling me there “might be a vehicle returned today” and then told me to try one of our competitors. After travelling internationally and renting countless cars, this was the worst experience I have ever seen. I couldn’t recommend this Budget less to anybody looking for a car in Memphis. 0/10 and I hope Budget do something about this."
"Customer service I give it a 9. I use the debit card which came with certain guidelines. Miss Betty, and Miss Cindy were amazing. They gave me a list of documents that were needed. I reserved my rental with a security deposit fee upon arrival once told what documents were needed, I was able to fill out my paperwork correctly and obtain my rental which was very reasonable and the vehicle very nice clean and spacious. I will not have to go through the tedious process of paperwork again being that I’m already in the system and would be willing to fast track verification anytime I rent At this location. "I wish I could give zero stars unfortunately. This has been the worst car rental experience I have ever had in my life. I am 3 hours away from the location I rented my car from (due to work, I do not have a choice), and apparently the only way to extend my car rental is by physically driving back down to the location and driving back up. I am here for work so I do not have the 5 hours to spare, and the poor customer service reps I called can not do anything about it and it is not their fault, they are just following directions. There has to be a better way to do this."
"Decently quick service, people weren't rude but weren't nice. Main issue is that I was denied my reserved vehicle due to being under 25, and then charged an additional $70 a few days after returning the car. I would normally understand the underage policy, but I had reserved this vehicle two months in advance on their app, meaning they had my DOB for that long, and even charged me an underage fee on top of that. I'm not sure how I was even able to reserve that vehicle in the first place if the system is smart enough to know that I was young enough to be charged the underage fee. Since I wasn't able to pick up my reserved vehicle, the attendant gave me a variety of car options I could choose from. From the list he gave me, I told him I would like a Toyota Camry or Corolla. He then looked at me and without hesitation, said, "I can give you the Kia Soul." I'm not sure why they would give me the option to rent a vehicle that I was unable to check out, and then give me a list of vehicles to choose from if they were just going to stick me with the ugliest car on the planet. Finally, I was charged an additional $70 after returning my car, and no where in the receipt does it specifically mark what charges were different. The tank was filled and no damage was done to the car, so I had to call their number in order to try and figure out the situation. Unfortunately, the customer service number is for their call center, which does not have access to billing details from the locations. I'm now expecting a call from the actual location so that they can explain to me the charges. Don't choose this company if you want transparency and communication."
