"Had no idea these even existed. The name is what caught my attention as I was passing through. Clearly, this is a Canes clone (unless I am off with my timelines) and best way I can describe is is Canes w/ pepper on everything. That said, they do exactly what I wish Canes would do and then some. - Can get tenders tossed in sauces - Salads! - Service was quick, my food was at the table hot/fresh before I even filled my drink While yes, the "combo" isn't included and drink is separate, for what I paid for 5 tenders, fries and drink would have been several more $ at Canes. Too, I would argue the tenders are larger than canes has been as of late. The main reason I ordered 5 was expecting them to be tiny, I was mistaken. If there was one in my area, I would eat here pretty frequently, I do hope to see them continue to expand."
"The food was hot and fresh. They offer sauces on the tenders, which is great. I had the Garlic Parmesan. They were good, but too salty for me, so I only ate half of the meal. My kids loved their meals. Give them a try, you may like it."
"So far. Fries are seasoned well. Sweet heat sauce is not what it used to be on tenders. Watermelon sweet tea is not worth it. They give you the cup; just get strawberry lemonade instead. You will be happy you did. Cups are very flimsy. Straws are recycled marine plastic. Kudos for the environment."
"This was my first time at Huey Magoo's. The food came quick and was great, the fries weren't hot but they actually tasted like potatoes, not like oil. The fries were also seasoned to perfection. The chicken and sauce was great too. Their drink options were top notch. I recommend the lemonade and watermelon tea mixture with lots of ice. My only complaint is that the chicken was skimpy. I was told this place was similar to Cane's but judging from this visit alone the chicken tenders at Cane's are twice the size. I would definitely visit again though."
"The food was great! Chicken was moist and not overly breaded. The French fries were cooked correctly, good size and had some seasoning that I enjoyed. They were not super busy inside on a Friday around 1:30pm when we were there, and I’m not sure how well I’d done if they had been. Because my only gripe is that is kinda loud inside. Not that the people were loud but that the acoustics are not to my liking. It’s not uncommon for businesses to have this issue I’ve found. Weather it be intentional or a simple oversight, I can’t say but I will say that dragging a chair away from the table makes a screeching rumble on par with shoveling rocks into the bed of a pickup tuck. It’s more than enough to make my skin crawl. I’m reminded of the time we we’re sitting down to eat at Abner’s and the host decided to sweep underneath all the tables which caused us to get up and leave. I’ve not been back since, but they had the same problem with their chairs. The overall lack of any sort of sound deadening/dampening means that a loud crowd, sliding chairs or even the persistent ringing of a phone will be amplified as the sound waves bounce around, reflecting off one of the many hard, flat, ridged surfaces. We call the “cafeteria effect” because of the notoriously loud places we all likely ate in during our early school years. BUT don’t let that deter you from giving this place a shot, your hearing may not be as sensitive as mine. And maybe they will see this and invest in some acoustic panels of a few fake plants. Either way I’ll be going back soon even if only through their drive through service!"
