"We stopped here for dinner, waiter let us know they have a 'happy hour Oyster' (half price) from 4 to 6, my husband and I ordered a PoBoy (shrimp and oyster) fully dressed, their French fries were crunchy and with a lot flavor. Our PoBoys were great. Definitely a great place to eat. Great atmosphere and friendly staff."
"Hey All we had a birthday luncheon for a family member and I say this all team or two thumbs up the food was outstanding. Our waitress was awesome. I had fish and chips, wife head black fish with broccoli. She had a drink called peach on the beach, the sweet tea was very delicious and fresh atmosphere was very unique the staff was very pleasant. Happy to help you"
"Saltine has a wonderful and welcoming atmosphere. I was there on a Monday, and it was busy but not too busy. Even with all the people there, it was not loud, and I could have a conversation without straining to hear. Service was great, attentive, and made great recommendations. I started with the jalapeño cornbread with bacon. By itself, it was a bit dry. However, with butter, it was close to perfect. The bacon is served on the top, and it tends to fall off when eating. The fried oyster sampler platter was next. I enjoyed all three of the different types and would order it again. For entrees, I have the blackened redfish sandwich with fries. Sandwich was excellent and bursting with flavor. The fries were perfect. They had a good crunch on the outside. My colleague had the blackened fish po-boy with the gumbo. While to po-boy was good, he thought that the gumbo was a little above average (disclosure, he’s from Houston and just made gumbo over the weekend so he might be a bit biased). We didn’t have room for dessert but they sounded amazing. I think next time, I may stick to multiple small plates to sample even more of the cuisine."
