"Tourists stopping in our first time based on other reviews. Not sure why, but food took quite a while to come out even though there were only 2-3 other parties there at the time. Appears they do quite a carryout business. Crawdad burger was OK with just a few crawdads on the burger. The crawdad cheese fries were decadent and way too heavy for us but likely loved by many. I wanted the food to be better than it was but I would return to try other things to be fair. Atmosphere was scant and very basic but it's about the food, right?!"

"Had a wonderful dinner at Palmer’s after visiting the Vicksburg Battlefield site and staying just down the road (9/30/23). I always like trying local restaurants versus chains. It is a true hole in the wall kind of place but don’t be put off; many great places start this way. Even though we ordered takeout, the restaurant was clean and had a nice feel to it. I had the shrimp and catfish plate with baked potato casserole and coleslaw with hush puppies. The batter was thin and crisp with a nice light spice to it. The fish and shrimp had great flavor. The hush puppies were particularly tasty, crispy on the outside and soft and flavorful inside. The staff was friendly, welcoming, and helpful. If you love fried seafood and enjoy supporting local establishments, I highly recommend Palmer’s."

"Great food, at a good price, you get plenty for what you pay. Great people working there. If you haven't tried it yet, you need to! You will not regret it! It's a well-kept Vicksburg gem and the food is delicious!"

"If you happen to be traveling through Vicksburg, MS and are hungry for some seafood in a relaxed environment, check out Palmer's! What a great surprise! We drove over to find a decent looking store front in a very un-busy shopping center. A customer leaving the restaurant noticed us looking and energetically gave us the "ok" sign. My husband asked him how was the restaurant and we were told it was very good, clean and had a great atmosphere. They sold us so we went in. We found this mom and pop restaurant to be staffed by the sweetest folks. It was large and the tables were arranged to accommodate various sized groups. The menu features a variety of items with emphasis on sea food. My husband had a crawfish burger and black eyed peas which he really enjoyed. I have to say I'd never heard of a crawfish burger. I had some of the best grilled shrimp I have ever eaten. It was seasoned and cooked to perfection!"
