"The food was good especially their tamales. It was about 13 years ago when I ate there I got the $35 steak. First time I paid for a $35 steak salad didn't come with that. It was an extra $4 and all it was was a little bit of lettuce two wedges of tomato and a pinch of shredded cheese it came in one of those little dessert bowls. Overall I enjoyed it the food was good best tamales I ever ate."

"As a native Mississippian, I’d heard about how amazing Doe’s in Greenville was for years. For Father’s day 2023 my family decided to make the 3.5 hour one way drive to try it for ourselves. It was worth every mile! The porterhouse steak was the best steak I’ve ever eaten, and the broiled shrimp were succulent and delicious. The atmosphere drips authenticity and the story if the bootlegging founder and his hardworking family who have made this humble establishment a James Beard award winning icon should be experienced by all foodies. I’ve dined in restaurants all over the country, and I’d put Doe’s up against any of them for quality and experience. Our table was seated in the kitchen so we got an up-close view of the process. An all-around incredible experience!"

"Best steak I've had in my life. As a couple of reviews suggest, maybe the best way to go at this place is to go with three or four other people and share a steak, an order of tamales, an order of boiled shrimp, and an order of fried shrimp. (That's a run of the menu -- there's nothing else.) I was traveling solo and so I got only the ribeye (amazing) and the tamales (very very good). Good eating isn't always fine dining. Prices at Doe's are maybe a little higher than one might expect at a "casual" restaurant - but you get what you pay for nevertheless. How much would you pay for the best steak of your life? At Doe's it won't cost that much."
