"Nell is the best! Our cat, as lovable and sweet as he is most days, hates having his paws handled and gets very skittish about it. He will scratch and bite as a defense when scared, so it's important that the person doing his nails is experienced with cats and experienced at getting the nails trimmed quickly and safely. Nell does that. He's in and out of the salon before he can react. I've learned to call ahead and ask for Nell to make sure she's in before bringing our cat. This helps them know to expect him and makes certain the right person is available to get his nails trimmed. I highly recommend Nell at Claws and Paws for cat trims, especially for the skittish kitties."
"Dropped my corgi off at 8 am and he was done by 10am. He smells sooo good and they gave him a cute little Halloween bandana. They trimmed his hairs and shaped his corgi butt perfectly. lol. Can’t wait to take him back!"
"I used to like Claws and Paws. But yesterday was too much. I brought my dog for grooming and trim (which usually they would finish in 2-3 hours). After over 5 hours we still didn't get any call and decided to drive there anyway. When we got there, my dog was in a crate, they say he was drying. When they pulled him out he looked almost dry to me, it means he was sitting hours and hours wet in the crate. Then we waited there and they were finishing everything else - trim, nail trim, getting rid of knots. We waited there and my dog was there total of 6 and half hours with them basically finishing everything in the last hour. Also when he was on the table he was shaking. I have never seen him shaking. He might not be a fan of grooming but he loves people. I will not take him back."
"I have always liked this place, great prices and the staff is always friendly. However, they were aware my pitbull was anxious going in and it took them 2 hours for a bath, ear cleaning, and nail trim. My dogs collar is a rubber capped prong and no one realized one of the rings was caught on a prong which restricted her breathing. I stay while she's groomed so she doesn't have to be crated to wait for me, yet she was crated between her bath and nail trim. When she was done, she was fully hyperventilating. She is a certified service dog, and they asked if I considered giving her CBD before going into public places.... It took 40 mins for her breathing to return to normal. I will never bring her back after this experience."
"I highly recommend you DO NOT send your pets here. My father sent his cat here for the first time to get trimmed and cleaned. At first everything seemed fine and they said Sophie did great for them. Not long after Sophie starts acting strange. My mom checked Sophie out and saw that she had ear mites. After taking Sophie to the vet we find out she has 2 different types of ear infections (very rare) and a bad case of ear mites. (The vet also told my mom ear infections like this are typically caused from to much water in the ears.) Something that should never happen at a professional groomer, to a cat that is super easy and friendly to bathe. As if this is not enough for poor Sophie to go through, she also had an allergic reaction to a soap they used on her. This resulted in full body sores and rash ect... Sophie basically looks like she got in a fight with a hedge trimmer and is completely miserable until she heals up. Note. Sophie is an indoor only cat and has had no contact with other pets. Yes claws -N- paws did not know she would have an allergic reaction to whatever they used on her. However that being said how they decided to handle this situation is why I am leaving this review. After informing them of what happened and of the 500+ vet bills because of this. They first said they would give HALF a refund. If we took down the bad review. Then proceeded to not continue contact about the situation. Clearly they do not care about animals and have no clue how to wash a cat. There is no excuse for to much water in the ears causing 2 types of ear infections. Do not send your pets here if you care about them. Even if they deal with the ear mites at paws n claws there is no way to tell if they have learned how to not water-board animals so go here at your own risk."
