NW Shine Roof Moss Removal Portland | Roof Cleaning Portland

"It seems a lot of the negative reviews were from about a year ago. I hired NW Shine to clean the moss off of our roof in November of 2021. One of the things discussed is that the cleaning would not lead to more moss growth but it might take some time for the old moss to fall off...understood. They originally quoted me a 4-6 hour timeframe to scrape, power wash and clean the roof. They arrived on time, said hi and went to work. About 2 hours into the cleaning timeframe I went to check on the person on the roof and he was gone. Apparently done. No walk through with me or even a "hey, I'm done!" He only used the power washer and never scrapped any of the moss off the roof by hand. Maybe that explains why it only took 2 hours... A month or so later I saw new moss growth and wrote them. I got a pretty quick reply but then the follow up never came. After many attempts to call/email I finally got a reply that I had to wait a year before they would even come back out. So, I set a reminder and in a year (November of 2022) I reached out. Basically the roof looked the same. It didn't appear anything was ever done and in 2022 new moss was growing. My neighbor, who went with someone different around the same time NW Shine originally came out, had a pristine roof. No moss and no new moss growth in November of 2022. I sent my email and many follow ups. I eventually got a reply and was told someone could come out, look at the roof and do another cleaning if needed (part of their attempt to adhere to their "guarantee"). Someone came out, threw some white stuff down and left. No cleaning or breaking apart the moss growing on the roof. So, as you can imagine, I still have moss on my roof. I hired another company who has done amazing work and guarantees their work for 3 years. He was up on the roof for over 5 hours with a lot of scraping the moss by hand at the beginning. If there is any sign of new moss, he will come back and clean it. Seems NW Shine brags about being the highest rated on Goggle since 2012 and the positive reviews speak for themselves. That's why it is so disappointing to write this review...it seems they had it together at some point so maybe it was just a rough point in time for them. The person I dealt with through email did her best to be middle person between the company and me, as the client. I would not recommend NW Shine to anymore. I selected them for 2 reasons, high reviews and affordable. In this case, I got what I paid for and, lucky me, get to spend more to get the job done right."

"I have a two story house where a large tree is next to. The tree destroyed my gutters and it was unsafe for me to climb up to clean. I requested a quote and got one the same day. When I was ready to move forward, they asked for same day cleaning. Of course I said yes and they said 2:30pm was my appointment. At 11am, they arrived to start. I was not mad they showed up early. It took them three hours to clean the gutters (it was that bad) and they did not charge me more for it. I received a lot of quotes from other places and this one was the cheapest. It was so satisfying to see all the dirt come out of the gutters. They even cleaned up after themselves. That day, it poured rain and my house didn’t make that annoying drip sound anymore. I highly recommend this company!"
