"Haven’t had my follow up appointment yet but the scheduler is insanely rude for no particular reason whatsoever. Both times we spoke she was rude and combative. I was blown away by the way she was speaking to me. Can’t believe she’s employed at a professional office. I know some patients can be difficult, but I am not. It was uncalled for."
"This is the worst run medical office I have ever been too. I have not been able to get one of my specialty medications for months because the staff is utterly incompetent. The billing department is rude and unhelpful. You can’t ever get a person on the phone that will help you. Everyone says it’s someone else problem and transfer you to someone else’s voicemail, who never calls you back. There isn’t any accountability. They wouldn’t even respond to Aetna’s direct contacts. They submit PAs incorrectly, they give false information to patients, and they have no remorse or empathy. I’m debating on driving to Florence where there are other nephrologists in my health plan. I don’t trust my kidney care to this office."
"The front office receptionist is completely rude and disrespectful. Dr. Hartley has been great, but the amount of disrespect and lack of professionalism by the receptionist ruins the practice. I had waited in line for over 20 minutes, as the receptionist was having insurance issues with a patient checking in ahead of the line that had gathered, and instead of the common practice of asking the gentleman to step aside to check in the line of patients and coming back to help this gentleman, she spent over 20 minutes trying to figure it out (which would have been great had there not been a line of other patients waiting to check in.) I then got talked down to like checking in late was purely my fault and told I would not be seen unless I wanted to come back later in the day. The tone, body language and facial expressions given by this woman were completely unprofessional and outright the polar opposite of how she treats her elderly patients. This is not the first time she has been rude either. I tried to ignore it the first few times thinking she was possibly having a bad day, as we all do, but she consistently shows that that is just her character with younger patients. I would not recommend dealing with being talked down to and treated like a nuisance if you can seek nephrology care elsewhere."
"Im sorry to post this, this post is only about one lady working at the front desk today. I was in the waiting room and what i notice was two older people going up to the front desk. The 1st was an old guy who drove a long ways from the coast and my wife and i notice this young lady checking him in had an attitude with him for no reason. Telling him he needs to call and this and that when something changes.... his response was he did and that he did what he was told. She did not care and sent him away to fill out his paperwork. I may add he was trying his best to be overly nice to her because of her attitude. The 2nd person an elderly woman went up to simple ask about the lab testing and that she was told to be there by 8:30 but they dont open til 9. The same lady at the desk was VERY rude. After she had informed her that it opens at 9 and it wasn't her problem so she doesn't need to help this older woman, the elderly woman simple asked: can you help tell me where I need to go then? I believe im in the wrong place. Young front desk attitude lady: Who are you? What's your birthday? What's your name? I don't even know who you are so how am I suppose to help you? She asked all that with no pauses in between. Extremely rude! This elderly woman was all by herself.. confused.. could barely move and had a walker and had been waiting there for 20 mins already.. my wife and i were disgusted at how these people were treated. We were called to our appointment after this, i hope this review gets to someone who can do something about this. I will remove my comment here if someone reaches out to me and let's me know they at least had a talk with the staff. Honestly i would fire somebody like that on the spot. You never treat people so badly."
"The Dr. Was great. He honored my taking herbal products because I am allergic to pharmaceuticals due to chemicals. He knew and understood what the herbs were used for. The staff was friendly and helpful."
