Reviews of Urgent Care | Kaiser Permanente Interstate South
"Update: The team at Kaiser reached out to me today about my experience and I absolutely appreciate the call and the follow-up . I've been with Kaiser for years and I definitely didn't want that experience to stain my longstanding relationship with them so I'm glad that they took steps to make sure that I was heard . Thank you Kaiser for caring. That's the kind of customer service I'm used to with you. Original post:Today was probably the worst experience I've had with Urgent Care. I had a dental emergency on Monday and was treated for that. By that night I was in the emergency room at 3:30am because the pain was at a level 10 for me. I could not sleep or eat. If you've ever had an ear infection you know the pain I'm talking about. Stabbing constant pain. I waited in the emergency room for 2 hours and got a few pain pills to go. Today is Wednesday and I was still experiencing pain and extreme swelling in my face. So I went to urgent care. When I got back to speak with Dr. Starnes. He came in the door and asked me what did my dentist say? He didn't even wait for the door to close before he came in with question And I was startled into saying I came here. No time for pleasantries or a simple "what seems to be the problem" And then he proceeded to tell me that my pain was not an area of expertise for him and I should of called the dentist. He stayed in the room for 45 seconds (maybe). Examined my mouth (no swelling in my mouth because it was in my cheek)and then hurried out the door while telling me i needed to take Ibuprofen and Tylenol for the swelling or pain. Did not get an opportunity to tell him that I have been taking that for the last 3 days and it was not working. I asked for a prescription for a stronger pain med while he had his hand and body out of the door and he told me no that's not going to help me and I needed to call my dentist. Even though the ER doctor had gave me a few just the night before so that I could sleep because the pain was just that incredible. He was out the door to hurry up and write me a doctor's note and get my Aftercare summary so I could get out. His whole demeanor screamed I do not have time for this and your problems are not my concern. In all my time of being a Kaiser patient I have never felt so unseen and unheard. I truly felt like I was something to be checked off on a list. This is the one time that I've left Kaiser in tears because I genuinely was in pain and had a concern and the doctor just didn't seem to care nor did he ask me any questions to get to the root of my actual problem which was the swelling in face and pain radiating to my ear. I guess he had other patients with bigger problems. I just want it to be noted that when people go to Urgent Care it is because in that moment they feel like their situation is urgent and not to be taken lightly. I would have appreciated just being listened to before you decided a care plan. Instead of being given a prescription for medication that I can't even take. But had the doctor asked me about it then he wouldn't have wasted his time writing me that prescription but he was too busy and that's not the way you should be treating people when they're coming in for an urgent matter. But I should come back if I get worse is always the closing line. That kind of treatment does not implore someone to want to come back to Kaiser urgent care and now I understand why someone would want to seek solutions elsewhere."
"Showed up at 10 AM, hoping to get medical attention for a hip injury. I got in within about 15 minutes and saw a doctor (Dr Klobucnik). He had me diagnosed with an illiuo-temporal band injury in about 5 minutes. i got advice, an x-ray and (thank god) painkillers in very short order. Currently stretching, icing and slowly improving from the worst pain I ever felt! Thanks Kaiser Urgent Care, Dr K and all hands."
"The intake staff were very friendly in the process was pretty efficient. I've been having pretty severe muscle spasms in my hip and wasn't able to walk a couple instances and got a bunch of ibuprofen in my system so I could go to urgent care and was still very hesitant and walking and they took the x-ray and things were going fine and the physician assistant walked in and said well. your hip looks great. probably just be more active, lose the weight and put heat and ice on it and that was it. and I really feel like I was disregarded because of my weight and the idea that someone is unable to walk because of a muscle spasm and has never had this before and then just gets turned out on the street with ice and heat. ice and heat is really disappointing to me"
"I really want to point out the above excellent service provided by Olivia. She was filling in- she mentioned she normally works upstairs but had picked up a shift in Urgent Care. Her caring and sweet disposition has stuck with me even into the next day. I wish the world had more people like her in it."
"Monday 9 Oct 2023 I just want to express my gratitude to Jennifer S.Garner MD and Jean B. Ross MD. They explained me very carefully the procedure about my daughter's treatment. I could see that they love their profession and want the well-being of their patients. I highly recommended both of them for their professionalism ethic and empathy."
