"I called Mike's because I heard their add on the radio for years and had moved closer to Albany. My heat pump was acting up so I made an appointment. First thing was I was told over the phone that it would be around $90 for an inspection and I verified that was the price even though I lived 10 miles out of town. The technician showed up on time but was green. He spent half of the time on the phone with a Journeyman going over his findings. They came to the conclusion that I had a bad reversing valve and should also replace my compressor. The young man was polite and considerate of my house and property, making sure to clean his feet and leave things as he found them. He told me they would work up an estimate and get back to me. That was September and it is now January. I have called them requesting an estimate to have them tell me they will get back to me and they have not. I have given up on Mike's. Also at the end I was charged $180 for the inspection. I paid the $180 because the young man had been thorough and had been at my house for 2 hours. I also work as a shop foreman and know what it is like for the green technician. I would rather him spend time and get the diagnosis right then rush and replace the wrong part. In the end their diagnosis was right. My compressor did give out, sieze up, and I have been on emergency heat for two months. I am making arrangements with an old friend to replace my heat pump. He doesn't advertise and never has to. He does what he says and word of mouth is all he has needed. I believe I am the exception to what to expect from Mike's and I don't know if the young man ever did his homework for me."

Matthew was on time, very courteous and knowledgable. He quickly identified the issue with my furnace and explained what needed repair in an easy to understand way. "Great service and response time. I was impressed with all aspects of this call. Repaired heater made sure to check everything’s working properly and thoroughly cleaned entire system. My heater was not running as efficiently and was given thorough explanation of how to improve that Did not push for either the part to improve its efficiency nor did they push a new heater. I would use Mikes heating over and over again. And they were the original installers of my heater. Great company. The representative today did an outstanding job and was very personable."
