Elks Jiu Jitsu Club
About the Business
Elks Jiu Jitsu Club (EJJC) is a nonprofit gym located at 13121 Southeast McLoughlin Boulevard in Oak Grove, Oregon, United States. Established in 2021, EJJC is a community of jiu jitsu practitioners dedicated to improving their technical skills while fostering fellowship and inclusivity. Members of EJJC can train at other gyms and are welcomed with open arms. The club prioritizes safety and offers a supportive learning environment under the guidance of Professor Marcello "Salazar" Bergo, an affiliate of Salazar BJJ.
The volunteer instructors at EJJC, including Aaron and Chris who have earned their black belts from Professor Bergo, are committed to supporting each member's growth in jiu jitsu. The club aims to recruit individuals of integrity and good character from all backgrounds, and is grateful for the support of Elks Milwaukie Lodge #142, where the club is based.
EJJC does not collect fees from its members, but an annual fee for Lodge membership is required. The club encourages cross-training and provides a weekly class schedule for members. In addition to jiu jitsu training, EJJC engages in community service activities such as supporting the Elks Care and Share program, raising funds for children in need.
As a private, nonprofit club, EJJC upholds a code of conduct to ensure a safe, clean, and fun environment for all members. The club values personal growth both in jiu jitsu and as individuals, and members are encouraged to embody the values and rules of the Milwaukie Elks Lodge. In 2023, EJJC looks forward to continuing their support of the Care and Share program and providing a welcoming space for all jiu jitsu enthusiasts.

Reviews
"Good club and good group of people to train from and get better with. Open community and you can still train at another gym and be welcome here."
"The partners I train with are like family. Jiu Jitsu is a journey, I would not want my journey to be with anyone else. The black belt instruction is top notch and it’s very detail oriented training. This is the best deal in town to train. just become an elk and you get free training and all the elk other activities that come along with it too."
"I don’t live anywhere close but drive over at least once a week because the coaching is so good. Friendly and welcoming."
"Great training environment, professional instructors, friendly people to train with. An awesome addition to the Elks community. Come check it out."
"I felt welcome by the club. The level of instruction is excellent. I’m looking forward to the women’s classes starting up soon."
